Lots of stairs

The location was at the center of the historic district and we were able to walk to shops and restaurants. Unfortunately there was so much construction going on that we had some difficulty maneuvering the plaza.

Too much construction! I would have liked to have known that ahead of time.

In my return visit, Room 207 was unacceptably noisy due to its location directly over the ground-floor restaurant (which offered a $75 ribeye and a $45 chicken fried steak, BTW). The second floor common area (sofas, chairs, tables, fireplace) reeked of cat urine. The no-pets policy appeared to be very loosely enforced as numerous dogs (no hint of "service animal" qualifications) accompanied their owners while the cat in Room 220 made its presence loudly known. It's nice to have a coffee shop on site, although many hotels feature free, round-the-clock pots with a variety of roasts. The parking lot is handy and my bathroom plumbing worked as it should. Disappointing stay overall due to noise and odors.

On booking.com, we were supposed to get a breakfast for $10.00 per person but the hotel said they don't honor that

No staff at desk on arrival. Had to go find them. Some room outlets did not charge phone. Basin did not drain but very slowly. Could not change room temp, went to desk, "ooh, there's a remote" no info about remote in room info sheet. No room location signs in twisting halls, had to explore to find. Etc. Etc.
