Homewood Suites by Hilton Charleston - Mount Pleasant

Second year staying at this location and perfect riding bikes to beach as well as riding to friends’ house in historic old village of mt pleasant!

Very disappointing that I was NOT informed there was no central air conditioning in the room. Walked into a hot room and saw a portable a/c unit in the floor below window of living room. Walked into bedroom and the same thing. While it helped to cool down some. The units cannot cool down the entire space. The other side of rooms, away from unit, were not comfortable. The whole place felt stuffy, humid. Of course, the unit is noisy and did wake me up in the night. Later, when I had to leave for an appointment, I think I did see some HVAC repair trucks so maybe it is being worked on. I don't know how many rooms or which floors/rooms are without central a/c. The tub did not drain well. Had to stand in water while showering. Breakfast is the usual of any other place, processed and cheap. Nothing special.

Clean room. Great value for what I paid. I have paid more for a lot less. Easy to get in and out of.

There was a dirty washcloth left in the shower. Floors were dirty. Trash was never gathered during our stay and we did not leave a sign on our door. We originally booked a double queen but was informed one was not available when we arrived so was put in a king suite and told we would be moved the next day which never happened even after requesting and reminding the next day. After waiting a while we were hungry and tired and decided to just stay in the room given. To late in the day and with a dog and not eating we needed to relax and not have to worry about changing rooms. We were on vacation, we wanted to enjoy our time, make the most of our time. Breakfast was great. Staff was courteous. I just wish they would have been more helpful. I feel like I was charged for the double queen. I was told I would be compensated for the crappy room and lack of service but so far I haven’t been. Overall it would be a lovely place to stay that is close to the beach for a family with animals. I wanted a getaway with my aging dog that had never been to the beach. I was disappointed. I hope others have a better experience.

This was a perfect place to stay! The staff (especially Cathy) was amazing. Walking distance from Target as well as restaurants and shopping. Loved it here.
