Marriott Sanibel Harbour Resort & Spa

We had dinner at Charley’s for my mom’s birthday. Our waitress, Cydni, was incredible. She was personable, took the time to have meaningful conversations with us, and was very attentive to our needs. Our family has been coming to Sanibel Harbour for 25 years. This experience, because of Cydni, was one of our best ones yet. She truly made our night amazing.

Sydney was amazing. She even told us where we could spot dolphins.

We also feel right at home with Ronda and Cindy. A dear friend passed away today and I needed a kind face, a kind word and I found solace here.

I was very much anticipating our stay at this Resort ,judging from the many positive reviews. And there are many positive things to say. I will proceed with Pros and cons" Pros: Staff is most helpful , courteous and well trained in all areas, including Valet, Front desk, restaurant staff , pool and gift shop. i will single out several wait staff who were above and beyond what would be expected. Those staff members are 1)in the restaurant, Eka, Gail, Maricar, Sharnette and Cindy at Charleys. 2) gift shop Carmen, I think, worked there over 30 years. 3) front desk, Alex, Theresa, Diane all helpful. And valet, although I don't know any names, everyone there was always on point with service and friendly conversation. and Kevin, the concierge was extremely helpful and most knowledgeable about the whole island. Very interesting man!. and the lady at the pool cafe , I cant remember her name but she is a very long term employee. And last but not least Chris, the F&B manager who literally struck up a conversation as I was walking in to the gift shop. Pros: It is a lovely property in the public areas. Pros: Food" we enjoyed the restaurant several night s and every morning for breakfast. We also enjoyed Charleys several times for a meal and for drinks. Cons: SAdly the Cons were hard to get past as it regards the room we were in. While I greatly appreciated an upgrade to a very lovely view type room, I was most disappointed in the condition of the room. Very dated and worn funiture. (the arm on the desk chair looked to have been chewed on). Worn is one thing but dirt is completely unacceptable. yes, stains on the carpet , mildew in the grout in the shower, dust in corners and baseboards, a lot of dirt in the slider door tracks and lots of stains on the black out curtains , dirty pulls on the chest where the mini frig was housed and dirt in the bottom of the mini fridge. I did bring this all to the attention of the manager of the day and she was concerned , of course and did send someone to the room to deep clean which did offer improvement. She also offered points or daily resort compensation which we of course accepted. Also , it was noticeable that the hallway and elevator areas on our floor were not vacuumed the any time during the 4 days we were there. Visible crumbs were evident that stayed there for 4 days. So , this was all very surprising to me as there were many reviews that mentioned great cleanliness. That description sure missed the room we were assigned. the MOD did offer to move us to another room which we declined. In summary, while there were positives for sure about this property, unfortunately , the lack of cleanliness in the room , for me, couldn't be unseen or put aside. In addition , while surely no one's fault, the lack of a beach was a big con for me as we enjoy early morning and evening walks on the beach and hearing the waves. I don't think a return to this property is in my future in spite of the positive things we encountered such as, mainly the quality of the staff.

Shout out to Cydni at Charlie’s Cabana Bar for making our dinner a wonderful dining experience! Great ambiance,. delicious food and cocktails, perfect sunset viewing on outdoor patio. Cydni our server was so delightful, attentive, kind and engaging and so much fun to talk to.

We had a wonderful dinner at Charley’s Cabana Bar inside the Marriott Sanibel Harbour Resort. Cyndi provided truly excellent customer service. She took the time and care to help us select the perfect wine for our meal. Her expertise and warm hospitality made our evening special. Highly recommend!
