Casa de Sierra Nevada, A Belmond Hotel, San Miguel de Allende

We stayed March 23-28, 2025. Paid about $700 US dollars per night. Room was small, bed almost filled the room. One small uncomfortable chair. Bathroom small, no bath, just shower. My head hit ceiling when I stood at toilet. There was a steep, narrow, spiral staircase to a rooftop patio, but it had no rail or bannister and my wife could not ascend it. Totally overpriced stay.

We had such an amazing stay at Belmond Casa de Sierra Nevada for our anniversary. We were married in the walled city of Cartagena, and SMdA reminded us a bit of that, and the Belmond fit in perfectly as well. From the moment we stepped through the door until we left, the service / food / ambiance was exactly what we were looking for. We were upgraded to a suite in the main building where check-in is, and that made things so easy for breakfast, spa, and pool across the street. We loved the food at the hotel, including room service. The tacos were something that we ordered every day either as part of a meal, or just a snack by the pool. The cocktails were also great every time, no matter where in the hotel you ordered them. We don't typically like Mezcal, but loved there Mezcalita. Perfect location as you can walk anywhere as well. We highly recommend this hotel. Special thank you to Octavio & Anna (Concierge), Daniella & Juana (Spa, which was amazing too), and Michael (GM) who addressed us by our names every day to chat and see how things were going.

This quaint luxury hotel is on a busy cobblestone street in the city center. Enterance is unimpressive but once in the courtyard it is lovely. Our room # 416 was down the busy street in another building. The room on second floor was nice but not outstanding. The biggest problem was noise at night from a rooftop disco that made sleep difficult. The hotel is aware of the issue but did not warn us —waiting for complaints rather than being proactive. We were told this room was a “double upgrade” but suspect we were given the room because it’s difficult to rent. The shower is dated and water pressure was a trickle. However the location can’t be beat, the service at hotel was impeccable and the included breakfast quite good.

From the time you check in and the time you check out, the entire staff and especially, the manager Michael, takes care of you.

Our room was huge - it had a very comfortable king sized bed and a pull out (but we did not need to use it). We loved spending time by the pool and the breakfast was lovely.

Fabulous people took care of all of our needs and wishes. This included setting up a television in a common room to watch an ice hockey game that was important to us Canadians. High luxury with helpful and caring staff.

Location was excellent 5 minute walk from the center of town and the bar had an excellent band every night The staff were wonderful Room was very beautiful
