Grand Park Royal Puerto Vallarta - All Inclusive

I would not recommend this resort to anyone wanting a relaxing vacation. While our room was ocean facing (most are) and the view was wonderful the level of noise was horrible. Constant activity staff announcing on loud speakers with pool games etc … thought one of the 2 pools may be quieter but activities move from pool to pool every hour. Night time entertainment on pool deck was loud in rooms even with doors closed. Food was less than par… buffet food was never hot and little variety day to day… only good thing was omelette station as guaranteed to be at least hot. Tried both specialty restaurants. Had terrible service at Mexican restaurant.. other seated after us received food, had eaten and table had turned over before we got our meal. Italian was better but still fairly slow … So if you want some peace and quiet book somewhere else…

Don't waste your time coming to this place. The resort only has 1 heated pool and the one with the pool bar is cold water. Also you do not get access to use the jacuzzi unless you are a member. For non members it is 800 pesos per person per day to use it. What a Riip Off.Also the food quality offered on the buffets is not good. They offer the same items daily. The so called fun activities in the pool area are boring and you their so called fun cash for participating that at the end of the night at 10:15 pm you need to go tot the pool area to reedem your cash in an auction toward an unknown box prize...I had $100 fun cash for my participations and another guest had $500 fun cash so obviously she won the prize which consisted of a stupid kids backpack. this is so ridiculous that only one prize is auctioned and no one else has a chance to use their fun cash... Rather than wasting the guests time to come at 10:15 pm to the auction you should reward every participant winner a small prize on the spot for participating. Also the Coffe bar sucked. they did not have a good selection of iced coffees it looked like 7 Eleven blended slurpees which tasted disgusting and always ran out of ice cream

Having been at this same hotel every year since 2019 we found it has become run down. The bar service which use to be excellent nOw only ever has one bartender (except swim up bar) and it certainly takes a long time to get a drink with only one server. Their facility could use some maintenance. Bottom line, love the location.

Need to work on the age and temperature control of their food. Rooms on the new part were very nice. Pool area was ok very nice beach area very close to water.

I would not recommend Grand Park Royal. While the views and initial welcome were nice, this resort does not meet 5-star standards. The pool was cold, food was bland and not authentic Mexican (no guacamole or pico de gallo anywhere), and late-night food options were extremely limited with very slow room service (two hours for a hamburger). The beach was closed for our entire stay and is quite small. Service was inconsistent — some staff were great (housekeeping, concierge, entertainment team), while others lacked communication. A major issue was poor transparency around the rooftop bar, which costs $45 USD per person unless you have specific wristbands, something we were not informed of at check-in. Refillable water bottles were provided but not cleaned or replaced, raising hygiene concerns. A power outage left guests without usable water for a couple hours. Overall, this resort is overpriced for what it offers and does not deliver a true luxury experience. I would not return nor recommend anyone to come here. Lastly, I’m very much looking forward to the typical copy and paste response I’m about to receive upon my 1 star review. Just don’t bother at this point, this resort has the same complaints and nothing gets fixed, I personally feel bad for all the staff that work here and are picking up the slack from their poor management. Personal shoutouts: the omelette lady, cleaning staff, Isabel concierge, the lifeguard for always trying to change the flag every chance he got and keeping everyone safe while a black flag was present, last but not least, the lobby bartenders- thank you for all your hard work!

The staff were very helpful and professional. The Italian specialty restaurant was our favourite restaurant The ice cream little cafe was a nice addition. Activities were great by Smith and the ones that did the beach ball activity in the smaller kids pool. There were activities in the bar pool also. The bar tenders at the bar pool were awesome. Overall it is a nice resort but more for families. Only thing we didn't like was the distance from the airport and problems getting a taxi to the resort from the airport. The airport is a gong show trying to get a cab and not get charged so much to get to the resort.

The resort is located where you will not get any sun until around 2pm. There is not a lot to do for families with young kids, the kids club is for 4 years and older. This resort seemed to cater more to locals over visitors from other countries.

We just returned back from 7 days at this resort. First impression was the views, wow, absolutely STUNNING. We saw whales and dolphins from the lobby bar. That’s the good. From there I would say that it did not meet expectations for a 4+ star resort. Food at the buffets were pretty disappointing, and I get it most all inclusive buffets are meh. But this one seemed to lack any variety and freshness (pancakes and French toast were usually dried out). The alcoholic drinks were great (they don’t have Diet Coke at all at this resort..might have been a dealbreaker for me had I knew lol) but the mix drinks tasted great and the bartenders were happy to make you anything you could dream up. The downside here is that they only ever had one bartender working at the locations. There were two À la carte restaurants, the Italian was decent, the Mexican was not as good. The waiters in the Italian restaurant were pretty great! The grounds were clean but lots of areas are in disrepair (it looks like the hotel is trying to make upgrades as there was some work happening during our stay). The way the hotel sits, the beach and pool area doesn’t get sun until later in the afternoon. So sitting by the pool/on the beach in the morning is a little chilly surprisingly. One of the pools is heated but that’s the pool all the kids go in. The other pool, where the pool bar is, is absolutely freezing. Also not a ton of serving staff by the pool/beach and so you’d have to go wait in line for the pool bar. That pool also has bits of cement missing in some places. There is a roof top bar that we popped into but we were immediately told that it wasn’t for us….something about the wrong color of wrist bands :( So the beach, probably one of the nicer beaches I’ve been to in Mexico but if you’re the type that likes “long walks on the beach” lol this isn’t it. It’s blocked off by huge boulders on both sides. My oldest and I did go and explore anyways but it wouldn’t be feasible if you’re not in pretty good shape (def not little kids) The highlight was a young bartender named “Danoven” he was creating some amazing drinks for us, was entertaining to talk to and we all really enjoyed meeting him. I didn’t hate my stay, no one got sick from the food and the views are great. That said, we would be unlikely to return.
