Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa & Marina

In past years, we've enjoyed our stay. However, this year was an anomaly. We stay here as the resort is the host resort for the Ironman race. Things happen, so I want to be fair. We will be back. We hope the issues we experienced this time are corrected. I completed the survey and won't air issues here. Again, this is not the norm.

The rooms were very spacious. The pools were very nice and clean.

The property itself seemed a bit dated for what they are charging. The front desk staff were not very friendly. The food was not great and service was very slow by the pool area.

This was a first time staying at a Hyatt Regency Hotel, and it did not disappoint. The place is beautiful, both inside and outside. Everything is beautiful and incredibly clean. We had a room with a balcony which was very nice. The people that work there are the most polite and friendly people to interact with. Everyone was very helpful, cheerful and friendly. The food we had there at two of their restaurants was delicious! I would definitely return to this Hyatt because it was such a nice experience.

The area is lovely. I would encourage any visitor to prepare for the low "low step in" tub concept for the shower. Also, the shower nozzle is a standard model without a sprayer. Room renovations would benefit the property. The property is absolutely lovely.

Our neighgborhood lunch group of 11 people got together for lunch at Michener's Library. In trying to make a reservation days ahead, I was told that it is "first come first served and there are no resevations." I called three times to try to alert the restaurant that a large party would be dining there and was told that no accomodations would be made for that. I was not even put in contact with the restaurant itself. Upon arrival, I asked an employee about seating (since no one greeted us), and was told to sit anywhere, but that they would not move two tables together so we could sit as one group. It took a long time for the wait staff to appraoch our two tables, to bring water, and to take our food orders, At times the waiters had to be prompted to attend to the tables. Perhaps the staff was short-handed, but service was very slow throughout the meal. Had I been able to reach restaurant personel, they would have known that a large party was expected and could possibly have brought in more staff. The food was fair, not what is to be expected from a Hyatt, All in all, it was not an enjoyable experience.

I attended a conference at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort and I cannot recommend it enough. I brough my daughter along to make it a proper family vacation and while I was working, enjoying the food and air conditioning, she was having the time of her life. She spent her days going down the waterslide, playing connect four on the lawn, playing miniature golf, and drinking virgin pina coladas by the pool. At sunset we enjoyed walking the pier and watching the rays approach the levy followed by roasting marshmellows by the fire. This resort is 100% worth every penny and has a little bit of everything for everyone. The staff are the best, most thoughtful crew and I cannot recommend the OG burger enough.

Back in 2012, I spent a day here as part of a team building exercise making and launching cardboard boats, and thought I'd really like to stay here. My wife and I finally made the thought come true. The Hyatt Regency is located in Cambridge, part of Maryland's Eastern Shore, along the Choptank River. This is an upscale resort that has a golf course, a beach, a small marina, two outdoor pools and an inside pool, so the atmosphere certainly says luxury. I really liked our room, even though there were a few small issues. I used a 'Guest of Honor' reward, so we were upgraded to a petite suite. This enormous room had plenty of storage space in the unit, and included two end tables, a dresser, a table/desk combo with two chairs, another small table, a comfortable chair, a king-sized bed, a very large TV, and a sofa. The room had a balcony, and you could see the Choptank. Let's talk about some of the issue. You could not see the TV from the sofa, so we had to move the two chairs near the TV. The two chairs, which looked very good, were uncomfortable to sit in. We had to constantly sign-in over and over to use the provided wi-fi. The wi-fi would not work with my Chromebook because the Chromebook would only accept secure requests (https:) while the sign-in system used the older and un-secure http standard. Despite a phone call to housekeeping at 3:30pm, our room was never cleaned on the second day. The resort is a little on the expensive side but is probably comparable to other similar resorts. As I had other Hyatt rewards to use, I only paid for one night, which ran to about $335 with taxes.

The resort was absolutely beautiful; the staff was friendly and helpful. I was there on Business but would go back for a personal stay with my family

The HYATT has been horrific to our family. My daughter was supposed to attend a Nationals Dance Convention and injured her ankle. I called 26 days before we would be arriving to cancel. They cancelled our reservation but will NOT refund $700 of my deposit. She CANNOT dance. The hotel is SOLD out in FULL and people are waiting to book that room yet they will NOT refund my money and will NOT have a manager call me back. They keep saying a manager will contact me and they never do! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
