Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa & Marina

Perfect site for a conference and a quick getaway. Local to a lot of amenities. Lots of things to do at the hotel (arcade, fitness room, sauna and pool - inside and outside, walking trail and spa)! The view of the water is amazing and relaxing. I can not believe I have not been here sooner.

We arrived around 7pm, 2 days before a Passover event apparently, just a couple days for Spring Break for my daughter and her friend before their track schedule picked up. Upon arrival, I asked for a late check out and was denied due to the event. I informed the agent that it as my first visit as he pointed out the window, at night, to tell me where to get breakfast. He then handed me an activities sheet of sorts, no real activities and I had to ask for map, since I had never been here before so how would I know where to go. I then asked if it was possible to get a tour since I am a travel agent and was told I could walk the grounds and take videos on my own because the event space was being prepared. No bellman to help with bags, they also did not seem available or ask to help during check out. Restaurant was closed except a dismal buffet, well what was left so we had to Door Dash food and nothing but fast food nearby and open. On our 2nd day, when we had to go to Walmart to buy popsicles because the story closed at 12noon, Charles was very nice and gave us a ride on the golf cart to the parking lot. We had to buy a box of popsicles they melted in the fridge, maintenance guy was nice, tall, brown skin with dreads, he pointed out that it was more like a beverage cooler. We had lots of cold snack food, which we ended up throwing out because I didn't trust it was kept cold enough. But we paid a resort fee and had no access to snacks without leaving the resort grounds. At the one open restaurant, Sarah was nice. Emma was even better, she went out of her way to call and get us the late checkout that were were previously denied, and gave us a free pizza after hearing how bad our experience was. We ended up there that night because the restaurant we wanted to go to was closed and we were told by an older woman at the front desk, that they had the same food across the street, my daughter and her friend wanted fish & chips. They did not have the same food at all, but instead the same food we had at lunch, which while it was good, we wanted something different. The grounds are nice, the girls had a good time in the pool and playing tennis. I was approached but someone I assume was a manager, I informed her about our experience and was promised points on my account for another stay during the summer months, I have yet to see these points, but not surprised as this happened with another property I booked a group. As a travel agent, this hotel may go on my do not sell list.

Everything about this hotel was incredible. We were meeting some family to celebrate a birthday and my only regret is that we didn’t stay longer.

Amazing visit. I took my son for his birthday. They recognize it was his birthday and accommodated us with an upgraded suite. Very helpfull with accessories my son wanted. I love the hot tub!
