JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa

This property was truly beautiful. My husband and I moved here for a couple nights before heading up north. The check-in experience was quick and efficient, and our room was very comfortable. The property is very well taken care of and impeccably clean. The gentleman who helped with our bags up to our room was very friendly and nice to talk to, and we had a wonderful service out at the pool. Our only challenge that we had was the valet service. It was a little discombobulated when checking in and then the day that we were leaving, we found it impossible to get help with our bags from our room down to our lobby. my husband sat on the phone for quite a while, waiting for his call to be taken, so we ended up making the decision to lug all of our luggage down to our car ourselves. Definitely understand that places get busy and didn’t mind waiting but for an upscale property like that for us to wait on hold for I believe 15-20 minutes, was a little frustrating. We were actually checking out well before the designated checkout time. And the amount of luggage we had really did require some help and my husband has a bad knee so it really was a little difficult for us to lug everything down ourselves so that would be the only area I think could really use some improvement again, especially for such an upscale Resort Overall still a really wonderful property.

We had a wonderful experience at this JW! I was a little concerned because of other reviews I read but we had zero issues that others spoke of. The staff was friendly and helpful! The pools areas were well kept and the servers there seemed nice and helpful. Our room was a nice size and perfect for our stay. My only complaints are that they don’t have microwaves in the room and our patio was definitely not maintained. It was dirty, full of bugs and spider webs and the cushions on the chair were ripped so we did not get to enjoy our patio although we had a beautiful view of the isle of capri. Lastly when I called the hotel to ask about seating by the pool the lady told me the only seating available in the pool areas is by purchase which is not true. I did not think that was cool of her to lie to try to get a sale. It almost diverted us from staying at this hotel but I’m glad it didn’t! Aside from that we truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back! The gym was incredible! The resort fee also includes: bike rentals, tennis/pickleball, golf, water park and so forth. Hot tip: if you want to utilize the pool area during peak season make sure to get to the pool relatively early to get a free chair otherwise you may only have the option of purchasing a nicer lounge chair or cabana. I also wanted to give a shoutout to these staff member who are killin’ it! Amy - housekeeping kind and helpful! Aaron - Bellman amazing! Helpful, informative and handled our minor issue immediately. Delaney - at check in was wonderful! Mirah - giving out pool wristbands was kind, nformative and helpful. Kaylee and Kyra - were kind enough to get us a later checkout at 1pm Ben - was super on it at the pool along with all the other servers that I interacted with. Ian - helped with bags upon departure and was so patient and helpful.

The worst parts about this property was the room because our bathroom had a terrible odor that did not go away. It was quite disgusting and even though we told them, the problem still was not resolved. Also another barrier was the self parking distance to the property or front desk. We had to walk quite a distance every time we left. Lastly, everything is quite expensive and they charge extra service charges with everything you purchase. Other than that, the property was beautiful, staff friendly, and lots of activities.

We loved our stay here! The staff was wonderful! The room was a decent size, clean and the bed was very comfortable! We LOVED the lazy river and slides. We would definitely come back! Just get to the pool early to get a lounge chair!

Pool was great.

It would have been better if it had more bathrooms in the waterpark

Everything was amazing. We enjoy our time. Only complain is the bottom of the pool was rough on the feet.

The property itself is Amazing however, with the new day passes everything is a lot more crowded like a theme park and everything is monetized to an outrageous point.

It’s was clean and fun

They messed up on our payment when we paid and it pulled out the amount twice which made it so we couldn’t enjoy the resort like we would have like too

Staff and food was amazing . The only issue was the hotel contracted a company to clean our hallway carpets at midnight , the machine and constant talking went on for 45 minutes. That was unacceptable
