Hyatt Vacation Club at Sunset Harbor, Key West

This was an amazing property. Wish we had stayed for more than a night and we're already planning a trip to Key West again just to stay here another time. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Parking deck is directly across the street. Beautiful pool. Near the water (cruise port), a 5 minute walk to Duval Street, and the Truman Little White House was basically next door. Genuinely cannot say enough good things about this hotel.

The location of the property was perfect! Away from the noise of Duvall but close enough to wander there if we wanted to. Close to Mallory Square which is the place to be for sunset. The property itself was beautiful and the pool area was lovely. Right next to the cruise port but I believe they only allow in one ship per day so with the exception of having a look at what ship it was that day we didn’t really notice that.

Firstly, we did love this place and would definitely return. For transparency however - at 4am there was a hell of a lot of noise out the front by the car park for about 30 minutes. Not sure if it was possibly a delivery for the cruise ship or maybe emptying trash dumpsters. I’m ex cabin crew and can generally sleep through anything if I’m tired enough (which I was) but it was very loud. There were parts of the room that were a little tired. A chip out of our bathroom wall and scuff marks on the bathroom furniture. Also a lot of dust below the aircon vent in the bathroom on the wall. Just tiny little things but when you’re paying so much those tiny little “attention to detail” things should matter.

When we checked in to our unit, we discovered one of the bedrooms (they were separated by adjoining door) smelled so musty it was unusable. We tried to run ceiling fan and a/c with open door to air it out. Day 2 we decided it was basically unusable. I called my aunt and uncle to tell them they should not join us on the trip. If I feel like the room is not usable for my aunt and uncle, for free (to them), How can Hyatt VC provide it to me for thousands? I went to the office and asked for property manager, to be told there wasn't one onsite and there wouldn't be one for days. I asked if I could pass on a message, they said they would let mgt know via txt/email. The next day the desk called to see if I'd been contacted, I told the no. They again relayed the issue. I was never contacted. They other issue with the "usable" portion was cleanliness. We had to wear shoes/socks when walking in the unit or our feet would be black from the dirt on the tile. Shame, the location is great. I would definitely NOT reserve an unassigned two bedroom unit here. You could end up with an unsable unit, cost thousands, and mgt that is nonexistent.

The maintenance man was extremely nice. Had a nice bed so at least we slept well.

Our A/C didn’t work had to have it fixed late at night. The Blind was broke and wouldn’t roll up. The parking garage reader did not work so had to drive else where until that was fixed. And our room had a TERRIBLE VIEW, when you looked out you only saw a tree. For paying the high rate you would expect a beautiful view.

This a really good location to stay. Steps from Mallory square and Duval street. Only issue is it is also near Cruise Boats, but was not an issue overall. Nice pool and jacuzzi area. Rooms are fine, but on the small size. Bathroom in our unit was updated, so good

Location was good

No room cleaning during our 3 night stay. Room was very small. Could hear the people in the connected room talking as if they were in our room. Absolutely NOT a $400/night hotel. Didn’t realize it was a timeshare property.

I had a great experience with my family!

Wouldn’t make an exception for us when my 7 month old was hospitalized on Christmas Day with RSV…happy holidays Hyatt.
