Empire Hotel

The photos online and the reality are worlds apart. The hotel looked abandoned, like it was inhabited by homeless people. The smell and dirt were overwhelming. We had to watch out for broken furniture on the stairs, a damaged wall, and debris on the floor. The bedding and bathroom were filthy. We left without staying even 10 minutes. This place should be shut down, not showcasing beautiful photos from maybe 20 years ago when it looked decent.

Room was vile. Staines all over the bed, splatter marks on the tv and walls. No door handles. M*th pipe outside the window. Awful smell in the room. Black mould in the sink, shower and toilet. After being there for 15 minutes I went to reception to say the room is unusable. I was told "the cleaner has just been in". Asked for a refund and was told no. We gave the key back and left.

This hotel is no where near as good as the pictures, I’ll start from the beginning, there is no free parking like advertised. When I went to check in I noticed a very strange smell, can’t quite explain it but it wasn’t good. The room was bare, no tv, black hairs found in the bed, very dirty and dated. There was a kettle but no cups or tea/coffee. The bathroom was disgusting and the shower had very low pressure. The room was booked via work so had to stay, contemplated sleeping in my car. Please read the over reviews before booking this place. 1 good thing the girl on reception was helpful and polite.

Advertises free parking but it’s a chargeable ncp car park. I tried to pay via app and online no payments going through. But I stil got a fine. I appealed and it still got held. So Ended up having to pay.
