The property was absolutely beautiful and the staff was so amazing! We really couldn’t believe the view from our room and overall experience.

The location and scenery

The fact that we paid to upgrade to a better location, but the facility had scheduled tree trimming on both days. When I complained, their answer was sorry, they’ll be done soon. I asked for the manager to call me back,but no one did. The staff is completely unprofessional and unethical.

Great views and had plenty chairs to watch the ocean.

there was a misunderstanding in the type of room booked and the staff upgraded our room to make for a fantastic anniversary stay. kuddos to the staff!!

The one compelling feature that distinguishes this facility is its dramatic and romantic location on the Mendocino Coast. The views of the ocean crashing into the picturesque rocky, craggy coastline, and the setting sun are simply spectacular! The staff is generally cheerful, and responsive to reasonable requests (like a smaller pillow, or a few more clothes hangars than the 3 present in the closet on check-in).

Sadly, this facility is worn and tired. Management of the facility seems to do little to ensure that the rooms, the buildings and the grounds are of a quality befitting the spectacular scenery in which they are located. The deck behind the entry to our room had very mature weeds growing up between the deck boards - obviously been there a long time. The rugs in our room were very dirty, and the rug corners in trafficked areas were curled-up to the point of being trip hazards. Some mold growing in the shower. You do not need to look too hard to see lots of poor workmanship in renovations and many make-do repairs. There seems to be an overall lack of attention to the details that distinguish a high quality hospitality facility. Breakfast was hugely disappointing - a mediocre offering of scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, tasteless commercial bread, and very limited fruit - no bananas, oranges, grapes, etc. We have had better breakfasts at quick overnight stays in budget chain hotels. Given this lack of creativity and quality in the kitchen, we opted to have dinners elsewhere. There are many more trustworthy options in the area.
