Heritage House Resort & Spa

I just wanted to start of by saying what wonderful customer service and care this property has for their guest. Debbie in particular really took the time to help me out. She took the time to call and help with any issues that arose. I will definetly be back to visit and certainly look forward to it.

Everything but the main building was lovely.

My husband and I frequented the Heritage House every year back when the Dennen Family owned it. What a treasure that the Dennen Family and staff created for their guests. The lodge was so very warm and inviting with couches around the huge fireplace to lounge in and have a drink from the beauty well stocked bar. They even had tea, coffee and cookies in the afternoon in the lounge for all to enjoy. The staff were unbelievably helpful! Rooms were quaint with no tv or phones which we loved. Back then your gourmet breakfast menu was awesome then dinner was so very special! Like 5 star special., and best of all those meals were included I. Your room price. They even grew all of their vegetables on site. We hadn’t been back after we heard the Dennens sold the magical place so decided to go again. To see for ourselves how the new HH faired. The room we were in was clean and more modern which I expected with beautiful views. The lodge itself was very sterile and cold, not very welcome in my opinion. The cozy warmth at the main lodge is honestly. We passed on the complimentary serve yourself breakfast and the dinner menu was more like pub food. The biggest negate for us was the condition of the grounds. It was always given such TLC way back but now it is in dire need of a good clean up and someone that will take charge of that job. Some of the cottages were in disaray and looked abandoned. Not sure if we’ll be back. The main lodge needs a total makeover like how it used to be. Bring back some color, warmth for rugs the painted crili g mural instead of bare ceilings and walls. Do away with enter and bring back the leather couches near the big fireplace for couple to enjoy and please bring g back a real wooden bar like it once had.

Location was lovely and the view from the room is wonderful. It was quite nice to be able to dine indoors with our dog for breakfast. There are a lot of ticks and we found ticks on our dog daily and one in our room.

Staff were always very friendly, but having requests fulfilled was a little difficult. Perhaps there was low staff, but we had to request for towels 4 times before we finally got them. The first request was done at the front desk at 10am and we didn’t receive the towels until the evening around 9pm. Additionally, while the views are wonderful…the rooms are quite dirty. Our white sofa had numerous large dark stains which made us feel uneasy and we requested for large blankets to cover them for peace of mind when sitting down. Breakfast is ok but nothing noteworthy. Overall, the cost per night does not justifies the room quality and service. Views are the only outstanding thing here.
