The room smelled like food every morning. Even though they had complementary car service, they never provided it for us even though it was less than 3 km. We never felt like it was a VIP access hotel for us

The staff was great .. we had an issue with noise and the quality of our stay and the service staff and management made it right. We would definitely recommend and would stay again ourselves

Great staff and room, Lobby and surroundings are poor at best. Literally better lobbies at a local post office. If you’re going to be elite, be elite from the start.

We were originally given an extremely small room in the old building for 3 nights. We were travelling from Australia with large suitcases & were unable to open them, however our travelling companions were given a large comfortable room for the same money. Upon speaking with the front desk & asking to be moved we were given a similar room for the 2nd & 3rd nights (Theo was wonderful & very obliging). 2nd room was clean, comfortable & spacious. Staff were friendly & the Japanese restaurant was amazing. Just disappointed we didn't receive the same room as our travelling companions originally as we paid the same money.

"A very disappointing stay at Hotel Place D’Arms Montreal."

Although the location is wonderful and the hotel building looks beautiful from the outside, the facilities and layout were disappointing. There is no proper lobby, and access to the rooms involves walking through event venues where weddings and other gatherings take place. Literally we had to walk through corridors full of China, sound equipment, food, chairs and tables while people were setting events. Getting to your room feels like navigating a maze of corridors and non-functioning elevators. The hotel seems designed for large tour groups, and the public areas were crowded. At breakfast, we had to wait for long in a corridor where waiters constantly pass among guests by carrying trays of food from the kitchen to the restaurant . Service at the front desk was fine but not very professional. We requested our rental car the night before our early departure and even we called again half an hour before leaving to confirm it was ready, when we arrived in the lobby, the car wasn’t there and porter couldn’t find the car key. In general , our stay was very disappointing from the check in to the check out. The property doesn’t match the image of a fine, elegant, and unique that the hotel promotes

Place was amazing! Friendly and accommodating. Room was clean. Ask for Ricardo at the concierge desk He will make sure your experience is enjoyable. Also the GM Kevin leads with passion. I would go back without question. Most importantly the Hotel is in the center of convenience. Also can’t say enough about the wait staff and valets.

Due to the layout you sometimes find yourself walking through events. We passed through a wedding reception, a large night time party for some business conference, a open bar reception area and one sit down business meeting. Awkward. Also no one informed us, even at check in, that the roof top terrace restaurant was closing for the season on the second night of our stay. We were planning on having dinner there more than once but on the second night of our stay the waiter informed us that is was the last night the Terrace would be open before closing for the season. Also there was no one to help with you luggage and no luggage carts in the small lobby. Its quite a walk to rooms in the fourth building and to make matters worse the single elevator was broken the first two days and we had to climb four flights of stairs to get to the room. This hotel des have an excellent location if you are planning on visiting old Montreal and the dock area, It is literally across the street from the Notre Dame Basilica and the Place d'Armes. The restaurant on the ground floor is also very nice.
