Super 8 by Wyndham Washington/Peoria Area

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. We should have walked out the minute we walked in the lobby. We tried to call several times before our arrival to no answer. We finally got someone on the phone and wanted to verify we had a room with a king bed. We were told he would fix it. When we got there they couldn't find our reservation. They finally found it due to the first guy checking us in 8 hours before we arrived. He did not fix the foor as he said he would. The night guy took care of it and got us a room with king bed. When we got to the room the door was open. We went in and didn't find anyone inside. The room seemed dirty and just felt bad. We did stay the night but slept in our clothes. There was a group of people outside playing music very loud but didn't go real late. The breakfast in the morning consisted of 2 cereals and orange juice. From the looks of the place I wouldn't trust any food so we did not eat. We had to use the phone to call someone because there was nobody at the front desk. The same guy from the day before answered. We told him we were not staying and to check us out. The next day we got an email telling us to check out. Called and got the same guy again. Told him we had left and they charged us for the second night. He said we had to ask for a refund 24 hours before the stay which would mean we had to ask for the refund before we got there. I told him I disagreed with that and he was going to ask the manager and call back. 4 days later and no call back. This guy lies and does not do what he says. I am not happy about the money but would not have stayed another night. I can't believe Choice Hotels let's thus place be like it is. We went down the road a block to the Sleep in. They were fantastic, let us check in at 9 am so we could leave our stuff in the room for the day. If you are in the area I would strongly recommend you don't stay or even book the Super 8. Terrible place and very bad management!!!!

The room was dirty. There were marks on the tub. The towel rack was coming out of the wall. The shower curtain rod was bent and hanging down. Something was splashed on the wall behind the table. The refrigerator froze all my fresh food. The refrigerator had paint and chunks coming off the front of it. The furniture had gouges. There was no privacy please hanger for the door. The door lock was broken. The door did not close properly. The AC didn’t turn on at all. The hallways smelled bad. The morning breakfast was 2 bananas and some old cereal. The front door caught on the side walk and had to be pushed closed. The parking lot was rough and had potholes. The grass was more dandelions and weeds than grass. On the second day we never saw anyone at the front desk. In general I can accept a budget friendly hotel being low on amenities. I cannot accept it being dirty, smelly and in disrepair. This hotel is not being taken care of and probably does more damage to the Super 8 brand than help.

Great location. Just a few mins from down town Peoria. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable and clean.

Coffee maker, no cups. Bedframe stuck out on both beds about 4 inches, so hit legs on them. Tray for soap bar and shampoo bottles by sink had scum and peeled with fingernail. No toilet paper had to ask for a roll. Took four keywords to finally get one to work. Toilet bowl has a large rust stain. One bedspread has a quarter size burn hole in the middle of it. The phone was filthy. The screen on the window was pulled out at the top. We had to work on the window to get it to lock. I have pictures of all this. The man working was rude. Told my husband to tell me they are a budget hotel. There is no business area, but it is advertised on the website. No breakfast, even though it is advertised three times on the website. First morning part of gallon of milk and orange juice, one slice of cheese, two pieces of bread, and a thermos of coffee for the whole hotel to share. Working was mouthy about us asking about breakfast. The next day, there were a few bananas and some cereal and four more pieces of bread added. I also have pictures of the first day breakfast choices. This place needs a lot of improvements. The room was not cleaned when we left for the entire day the first day. This place was so nasty I got disinfectant wipes and wiped down everything.

The carpet was damp upon entry. There was trash under the bed. There were multiple stains on the sheets and pillow cases. Family found the appliances to have sticky substances on them including phones and hair dryer.

Location was appropriate for our destination purpose.

Room was filthy; crumbs and dead bugs on the floor. No TV remote in the room; had to request one. Did not partake of breakfast as there was almost nothing there; near empty cereal containers for 2 mornings. Booking information states no pets are allowed at the facility. We saw one individual with 2 dogs in the hallway and another couple with their dog in the lobby. Around the base of the bed, just under the bed skirt, were 2 empty water bottles, bottle top caps, and all types of debris and particulate that had never been vacuumed. Variety of stains on the walls. Circling the base of the toilet was a massive amount of caulk to keep it from leaking. When addressing some of these issues with the registration staff was told "This isn't the Holiday Inn, all these places are like that".

The outside of the building looked decent! The inside was not.

The dinette was not much to it. We were told up front that they didn't have a king bed room for us to stay in as it was not cleaned. So we said we would go somewhere else and the clerk told us to give him 7 minutes and he would have that room clean... we waited and listened to him shuffling furniture and walking on the floor above us! Very noisy place! We got the key and went to the room to look at it! Not very clean! checked out the bathroom and flushed the toilet then it kept running and sounded like it was gushing but just kept running ..... We decided we were not staying here and went back to front desk asking for a refund... He told us it was too late and took key and waved us on!!
