Super 8 by Wyndham Washington/Peoria Area

Very reasonable ,prices, clean,good location

Booked hotel for 7 nights mainly due to proximity of nearby relatives. Booking.com advised that 1pm access was available and I confirmed this with the Hotel on- line checkin facility prior to arrival. Not impressed with exterior of hotel as the car park had broken and cracked concrete with weeds growing between cracks. The reception/breakfast area was small and needed complete overhaul . When we arrived no-one was on reception, waited excessive time for someone to come following a phone call. Our booked room was not available at 1pm but not until 3pm This after a long flight and drive from Chicago. After a long heated discussion with two men one of whom was Duwanne. we were told that they could not cancel the booking as it had to be done by Booking.com. Examination of the Booking.com paperwork found that even this was not possible. We left without checking in to visit our relatives and consider our options. Returning at 3pm we viewed Room 126 and considerate it adequate and proceeded to check-in. Breakfast was supposedly available from 0630 until 0800 am Much too early for holiday guests. Out of date form in room stated available until 11am. Complete lack of food items. One check at 7.20am revealed two Yoghurts, no fruit and several slices of bread. Even this was cleared promptly by 8.00am. we ate out each day as a result. There was a strong smell of cannabis smoking in the corridor throughout our stay, presumably this is not illegal in Illinois. Our Room 126 was at the end of the building and we could not receive a w-ifi signal unless we went to reception area. Duwanne offered to change our room but as we had unpacked we decided to manage. The bed was comfortable and the shower was strong with hot water but the shower head was a fixture and not detachable. The toilet seat was insecure and moved suddenly when utilised. The air conditioning is good but an old chair was badly ripped along the side and several of the wall lights did not work. The small fridge had a separate freezer compartment but without a door on it. This meant that the entire contents of the fridge ie chocolate and bottles of coca cola and milk were frozen solid. After two nights we found that the room was not serviced, the bed was not made, towels not changed and bins not emptied. We had to ask for this to be done on two occasions. There seemed to be only one lady employed to do the hotel cleaning and this seemed to be too much for her as she was at it until late. An unfortunate medical condition meant a deep clean in our bathroom was necessary and requested. It became obvious afterwards that the toilet bowl had not been cleaned. There was no safe for our valuables in the room and no laundry area in the hotel. The lack of both of these caused us some inconvenience. We have travelled extensively throughout Europe and the World including hotels in 6 of the USA states. (Super)8 Washington was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in and will never return.

Not a lot other than proximity to family we were visiting

Smell of canabis being smoked in corridor, no wifi access in Room 126, Despite having requested 1pm access no booked room was available until 3pm.. this after long flight abd car journey. Torn side of chair, several wall lights not working, attitude of staff on arrival, hotel needs complte refurbishment all areas. Breakfast was very poor, some fruit, 2 yoghurts and small buns only at 7. 20am. Breakfast was advised until 8am then such few items were cleared . Much too early. Old room notice in room states until 11am.. Only saw one cleaner who was obviously overworked as our room was not serviced unless we asked for it. Even then she didnt have sufficient time to hoover floor or clean toilet bowl and seat. Fridge had small freezer compartment but no door on it, this resulted in items being frozen solid ie chocolate, fresh milk and cocacola bottles. Towels were too small to secure even round my 36 inch waist and not exchanged for fresh ones unless requested No one on reception on arrival and excessive delay in responding to telephone call. Was approached by man believed to be manager at end of week who hoped that we would not submit a bad review. The exterior was not tidy the car park surface was concrete cracked in places with weeds growing and grass needing attention

Dwayne is the best hotel front desk person ever. I have stayed here many times. He makes sure I have clean towels, bedding, coffee, etc. He is a hard worker and is by far the best front desk person I have ever had at a hotel. The rooms are clean and if I ever need anything, I have it within 1 or 2 minutes if he is working. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you Dwayne for making my stay great.

The front entrance smelled like cigarette smoke and wet carpet. The room was very old and not up to date. The only thing that was decent was the beds. They were decent but everything else was janky.

Staff was nice

I did not like: room was nasty, toliet had stain, no internet, no TV services, no breakfast

There were blood stains on the comforter and layers of grime on the phone so my sister and I took my 5 year old and left to go stay at the Holiday inn. I mean for the price, I knew it wasn't going to be the best, but when we saw the blood stains, we were done. Never in my life have I seen that at a hotel.

Totally satisfied!
