Best Western Plus Wilmington/Carolina Beach

I stayed at the Best Western end of June 2024, and I wasn't to happy. The price was great $166 after tax, with parking included, breakfast, and supposedly pool. Well we got there the lady that serviced me looked board and tired even though it was 6:30pm. Then i found out I paid for a hotel with pool when pool was down and closed for the seasoned. That got my kids an I pissed since that was one of the reason why i choose the hotel. Once we were in our room, it had a little smell, we weren't sure if it came from the ac or mildew or mold stairting to grow it wasn't to bad for one night. Next morning when we open up the shades had better lighting, we noticed some stain on the rug, like cool-aid and soda, as well as when you walk on the hallway on the first and 3rd door there were many rug stains. Breakfast was good no complaints from my kids an i other than sausages were a little gross. The Morning service desk lady was supper sweet and the ladies that was bringing out breakfast were super sweet. Parking was also good. I gave it a 3 star due to Morning service and breakfast ladies, breakfast was good and parking. I took out 2 star due to pool not working and charging me for it, room smell, and overall room and hallways not well cleaned. Bed & bathroom did looked clean.

We chose this property mainly based off of the amazing pool that was in the listing. The pool was shut down. There was no where on the listing that warned of the pool closure nor did the staff say anything about it. Our room itself was in awful condition and was not properly cleaned. The room itself had lots of damage. The mirrors had smudges and fingerprints all over it, there was chewed finger nails in the bathroom as well as hair coils in the main area to store your stuff, the one chair we had in the room was soaking wet making the entire room smell of mildew, we found suspected mold on the bathroom wall, the standing lamp that we had did not work at all, there was black marks on the wall where the outlet for the AC was that could’ve been from a past electric issue or fire, and there was no holder for the removable shower head. I took photographs and videos of all said issues. Overall, we were highly disappointed with this hotel which resulted in us staying at a different location for the rest of our vacation.

This hotel was nasty. No clean room. Nothing was functioning like the dryer and washer. The lock on the door was not working properly. The receptionist wasn't been honest. No shampoo and conditioner, no teeth brush, and no dental paste. The gym wasn't functioning and the pool was nasty. The jacuzzi wasn't working.

I specifically picked this location to be near family who had rented a beach house 7mi away. I specifically looked for a location with a fitness center and indoor pool/laundry. The location listed in Wilmington listed both as amenities. Upon arrival I found the pool closed and the fitness equipment in disrepair. The stepper was broken and wrapped in electrical tape? The nautilus machine also was not functional. Cabling was sloppily strewn about the machine. The laundry machines did not work. I will be sending photos and video it was a disgrace. I stayed at the Drury Inn during ride home and they had it together. Fitness room was clean and functioning pool clean and refreshing a total disappointment for this Wilmington location. I will be uploading pics and photos of this disgrace in Wilmington.

My view was the parking lot. But hotel was nice and stay was comfortable

The pictures on this listing are *at least* a decade old. This hotel is run down, saggy, and needs a new bra. The pool had been closed for who knows how long. The entire downstairs smelled like old weed and sweat, and overall, it was a very, very, very disappointing stay for myself and my kids.

The room was horrible, the carpet was dirty, there was a smell of bug spray in the building. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy

Indoor pool closed Hot tub in room not working. Had a sign. Only 2 luggage carts Window shade in room broke

I travel a lot. This was the first time ANY hotel tried to charge me $30 to check in an hour early. First they told me none of the rooms were available that they were ALL still be cleaned by the housekeeping staff. When pressed, the front desk clerk suddenly found a room that was available but told me it would cost and extra $30 for "early check-in." I said that was ridiculous, left and came back later to check in.

I asked for some extra pillows and she stated that the hotel was almost Full so they didn’t have any . I said when someone requests extra pillows for pull outs or need you just pull them out of empty rooms to which she had no reply . She was super rude there was water everywhere , mold on the windows , everyone on our room woke up to sore throats and stuffy noses - no filters changes . Never again !
