Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson

My wife and I truly enjoyed our 2 pre-cruise nights at the Hyatt Regency! The view from The Exchange restaurant was spectacular. It was wonderful to also see The Statue of Liberty from our room. Special thanks to Jelyn in the restaurant! She was always so cheerful in the morning when I was dispatched to get coffee. She is a real tribute to the hotel. The only things that disappointed us were the astronomical cost for drinks at the bar and the surprisingly skimpy wine pours. Highly recommend the Porto Leggero Restaurant just a short walk from the hotel. Lovely bar, fabulous service, and a dining room that serves unforgettable meals at reasonable prices.

This Hyatt provides an excellent atmosphere to relax and unwind. It's crazy close to NYC (one stop train ride on the Path). The hotel is immaculately clean, the food is on point and the staff is friendly, courteous and helpful. There is a reason I'm a frequent flyer there.

* 우리는 3명이고 막내 석사졸업 참석 후 귀국전 투숙이라 러기지가 5개나 됐다. 일단 렌터카로 1층 갔을때부터 발렛 (호텔 소속 아니고 계약된)과 마찰. 호텔전용주차장 27달러(1일당)라더니 호텔에서 500미터 떨어진 홀푸드 주차장에 유료로 주차하는 거였음. 발렛을 하려면 1일 55달러 내라해 차량은 요청하면 어느 정도 시간안에 갖다주냐니 1시간 걸리니 그냥 셀프주차 하란다. 일 하기 싫은 놈이 미국엔왜 이리 많나. 러기지 5개를 끌고 3층 로비에 가서 벨보이 없냐니 그런거 없어. 시큰둥. 딱 2명 앉아 있는 데스크 직원 모양새는 내가 호텔이 아니라 '법정'에 들어왔고 '판사님'을 만난 기분. 뭔 말인지 이해들 하지요? 뭐 이딴 개념 없는 호텔이 다 있는지. 객실은 이 호텔에서 제일 비싼 뷰 자랑하는 방인데 욕실과 수전 수준이 그냥 inn급임. 물도 3명인데 딸랑 2개만 계속해서 놓기에 팁 많이 두고 여러병 달라 메모 남겨놨더니 그 다음날도 2병. 그래서 하우스키핑 전화했는데 무려 4일간 10번 넘게 전화해도 부재중이란다. 하우스키핑 복도에서 마주쳐 직접 요청하니 '전화해서 요청하란다' 뭐 이런 것들이 다 있는지 아무리 하야트 '리젠시'라도 이건 도미토리만도 못한 서비스에 화가 치밀어 올랐다. 거만한 직원들과 후진 객실. 뷰만 좋을 뿐 나머진 다 쓰레기 수준.

Compared to our last visit two years ago, I could definitely see the improvements after the renovation. The property overall feels refreshed, and most of the front desk staff were helpful during our stay. However, the room with the accessible bathtub that we received still left much to be desired. Since it was only a two-night stay and the hotel appeared to be at or near capacity, I chose not to complain or request a room change. Unfortunately, the biggest issue happened at checkout, when the valet parking service lost or misplaced my car keys. When I reported the situation, I was simply told that the valet company is a third-party vendor and that there was nothing the hotel could do for me. While I understand the valet service may be operated by a third party, the lack of sympathy, urgency, or willingness to assist was extremely disappointing. It felt like the response was essentially, “Sorry, there’s nothing we can do,” and that was the end of it. After I followed up via email and included my Hyatt concierge, one of the assistant managers did add the valet company’s manager to the email chain, but I have not received any further updates since then. I sincerely hope the valet company is able to locate my lost key and mail it back to me as soon as possible. However, if the key cannot be found, I would like to know how the hotel and valet company plan to handle reimbursement for the costs associated with deactivating the current keys and purchasing replacements. At this point, my overall impression of the stay will largely depend on how this situation is handled moving forward. I am willing to update and revise my rating accordingly if the property and valet company resolve the matter professionally and responsibly.

Nous avons pris un repas un soir à l'hotel, recherchant un peu l'éloignement de la foule de New York mais le restaurant était très bruyant. et nous avons trouvé que le choix à la carte n'était pas très achanlandé.

This is a perfect location for getting into the city. The World Trade Center Memorial is one train stop away, and the station is right outside your door. Friendly staff, spacious rooms, and a great view

Staff not helpful, very bad customer service, irresponsible, and bad parking arrangements.
