All their staffs are excellent. Very nice view. The lighting in the living room can be improved.

Service is the best

Amazing property with the best view of Sun Moon Lake. Alongside the view, is the spectacular service of all the staff. Highly recommended if you are to visit the area. For children, they may set up an extra bed and crib. They also provide a sterilizer for bottles, baby bath tub and toiletries for babies. I look forward to another stay here in the future.

Beautiful hotel and the staff were really very welcoming. We didn't find so many things to do in the area, so 1 night was enough. The pool looked amazing but was too cold to try! We also tried the Chinese restaurant which was good.

Face to the lake, the staffs are nice and friendly. They would contact you first before the arrival to see any specific care may need. It’s a pleasant stay

stunning architecture and very friendly service. rooms at first sight have incredible design and are very spacious. unfortunately at closer look the entire hotel feels run down and has seen better days. ceilings are dirty with mold, bathroom weatherstrip is full of mold, fixtures are not well kept. management needs to spend some resources and good craftsmanship keeping the place up

This is a very very nice property sitting on the hill overlooking the beautiful Sun Moon Lake, it gives a very calm relaxing and zen vibe. Service was excellent, staff was courteous, patient and helpful! The spa and massage is above and beyond, nice tranquil facilities with plunge pools, sauna, finished by nice massages and thoughtful service. The suite is very nicely decorated and spacious and clean. The hotel provides daily local fresh fruits as well! You literally feel like you are in a retreat, you can sign up for free yoga classes as well! Love the property the staff and the experience! Unmatched!

Where do I even start? Such a heavenly stay! I had the most beautiful birthday weekend! Weather was so perfect, we slept late and woke early to appreciate the stars and sunrise, we used the pool twice. My first time ever swimming underneath stars! We felt like we were living in a dream 💗 Yes the hardware was a little dated, but we didnt mind it at all. We came here for nature and relaxation and we left with the BEST memories. Thank you to all the staff for your great hospitality, in particular we remember Axel and Marshall, thank you for the warm welcome and send off. Breakfast was scrumptious, lots of local delicacies and well thought out options for international travellers. Truly recommend!

This was of the best stays I’ve had in the last couple of years. Service was impeccable and staff were so friendly towards us. The breakfast was full of Taiwanese specialties while still keeping abundant “classic” options as well. Definitely coming back next year and will be booking a longer stay!

The first impression when entering the hotel was "wow". Aesthetic Japanese style architecture with a great view of sun moon lake. The bar and reception also have a beautiful lake view. The staff speaks excellent English and is very friendly and helpful. Upon entering our suite with lake view we also said wow. Great styling, spacious room layout, large balcony with beautiful lake view. On closer inspection of the room we noticed that it was worn and used in various places, sockets did not work, stains on the sofa, defective lamps…. In addition, there was no coffee maker in the room, only instant coffee. The pool area, overlooking the lake,is also very stylish and well maintained. The service at the pool is good. However, the pool is soon shaded in the late afternoon. There is a peculiarity when visiting the pool, which seems strange, at least for Western guests: in the outdoor pool, a bathing cap must be worn. The restaurants look very nice, but we had problems with the menu card because we don't eat fish or meat. The selection was very limited, leaving us with only the pizza from the room service menu. The hotel is very popular with Japanese guests, only a few Western guests. At the morning meal, the service staff started cleaning the floor before the end of breakfast time. Quite a few guests were still eating. For a luxury hotel with these prices, this is a no go. From the hotel, you can walk along the lake on a nice, quiet sidewalk, and get in about 10 minutes to the main town, where the boats depart. The Lalu is by far the most beautiful hotel in Sun moon Lake, but should be renovated to justify the high prices.
