The Fold Hotels Steamboat Springs

We paid over 6 weeks in advance through hotels.com for this reservation. After making the nonrefundable reservation we were sent a message stating the hot tub, sauna and pool were unavailable and we would have to go to their sister resort to use those things. Also before we stayed at the Fold Hotels Steamboat Springs, the hotel had changed the name and pictures on the hotels.com website. The previous name was Legacy Vacation Resorts Steamboat Springs. After reading newer reviews and seeing the hotel in person we decided to forfeit our reservation and payment and find someplace else stay. Other reviews had mentioned bedbugs and we had already had a previous experience with bedbugs on our trip that week in Colorado so we were not willing to find out for ourselves judging by the appearance of what we could see. We did go into the lobby and after viewing the exterior along with the lobby of the property, we felt very confident in our decision to lose the nonrefundable payment and find another place. Way better to lose that money than stay at this hotel and end up with bedbugs or worse. I spoke with one person at the call center for the Fold Hotels and also the clerk at the front desk at the hotel and explained the situation. I thought possible a compromise or a partial payment refund might be achieved but no such luck. I would highly recommend avoiding this hotel and choosing one of the many better, safer and cleaner options in Steamboat Springs. Lesson learned, do not prepay.

The suites were recently renovated and very comfortable, spacious, clean, and well stocked. The property manager was completely awesome in every way, and they went out of their way to facilitate our needs. Had great conversations with the staff and they did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable.

We had an amazing experience. The rooms are so spacious and everything was brand new and renovated. Front desk and management were very helpful. Great location.

Great stay for our family of 5 while on ski getaway. Shuttle was prompt every 30 min to the ski resort. Condo was roomy and had full kitchen allowing us to save on meals and cook some of our own. Breakfast was minimal- nothing hot. Enjoyed hot tub and sauna after ski days.

This property has been updated; however, it wasn’t quality updates. The AC is positioned at the head of the bed so it blows in your face while you sleep, which was annoying and made it difficult to sleep. We were there for 5 days and they never came by to clean the room, restock towels, etc and there wasn’t a mop to be able to tidy up on our own. The hotel states it offers breakfast but don’t get your hopes up - it consisted of cereal, bagels, orange juice, and coffee. The property has a sauna and hot tub but no pool. The pictures reflect a game room with a pool table, but they either didn’t have it or it was unavailable during our trip. The location of the property isn’t bad, it’s conveniently located about a 5 min drive from the mountain and is near restaurants and grocery stores. The next time we visit Steamboat we will not stay here. Highly recommend viewing the property details on their website or calling prior to booking through Expedia because the Expedia post didn’t reflect that the property would be under construction or some amenities may not be available during our stay. After booking, I received a direct message from the hotel letting me know that the sauna, hot tub, and games would be unavailable during our stay. I contacted the hotel who refused to refund me or allow us to transfer our booking to their sister property and Expedia stated there was nothing they could do either. Just be aware the post may not be accurate of what you will receive!
