The hotel was modern and ideally located. It also offered everything we needed- including a very good restaurant and valet parking. However, what made it a particularly good experience was the customer service we received Aaliyah at the front desk. I had booked the “HOMERUN” special on the hotel website, however, due to a technical issue, it did not show this election on the Thompson’s website. I shared some documentation with Aaliyah, and she quickly altered my reservation to account for the promotion, and also upgraded our room for the initial misunderstanding. We will be back!

My stay at the Thompson Washington D.C. was excellent overall, and I would rate it about 4.5 stars if possible. The staff delivered exceptional service, from helping me print more than 25 pages for work at 11:30 p.m. to serving my in-room dining order in just 35 minutes. The burger I ordered was perfectly cooked to medium well and seasoned to perfection. The gym, restaurant, and bar all added to the quality of the experience, and the room itself was clean, comfortable, and stocked with thoughtful products. The only disappointment was the river view room. While it did technically face the river, the view was heavily restricted and fell short of what I expected as a guest who specifically requested that view. This detail kept the stay from being a perfect five stars. That said, the hospitality and overall experience left a strong impression, and I would not hesitate to stay here again or explore other Hyatt properties.

I have stayed in a few DC hotels over the years and this has been my favorite so far. Everyone here is wonderful, professional, and friendly. Check-in and check-out were easy and quick. The lobby is beautiful and open with a non-harsh perfume in the air. I have not been to DC in a couple of years so the new fangled elevator technology was an adjustment but I love having advance notice of which elevator I’ll be taking (rather than standing back and watching for doors to open like I’m playing whack-a-mole). I had breakfast at the restaurant a couple of times and each time was amazing. The eggs for the crabs Benedict were not poached as hard as I personally like but they were still amazing and you can absolutely ask for them to be cooked the way you prefer (I was short on time that morning). The “shrooms” I had on my last morning surprised me in the best way. Sourdough, avocado, portobello, and eggs were a great ending to my stay. I am a nit-picky person (or maybe just an overly observant person) so I did notice a little wear on the toilet paper roll holder and some sticking cabinet doors, nothing that at all negatively impacted my stay. I will say if you are staying longer and thus packing a giant bag, go ahead and book a room larger than a queen. I did not plan for having a figurative u-haul with me when I booked so walking space was impacted, but that is 100% a “me” issue. Finally, the hotel was within walking distance to my friend’s apartment, my favorite DC restaurant (Chloe), and National’s Park so it really was in the perfect place for me. I definitely will be staying here again.

We stayed here for my recent wedding and I cannot say enough good things about the hotel and people working there. Everyone was incredibly kind, helpful, and accommodating. The rooms were well-maintained and clean, the lobby space was inviting, and the rooftop had gorgeous views. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and will be staying here next time I'm in the DMV!

My experience at the Thompson was absolutely wonderful, and I will definitely be returning. Prior to my arrival, I had several questions about both my stay and the Navy Yard area. Eric went above and beyond to answer each one with care, making sure I felt fully prepared and comfortable before even stepping foot on the property. Check-in was seamless. I quickly received my keys, room number, and clear directions. Shortly after settling in, I received a thoughtful call to ensure the room and amenities met my expectations, which they absolutely did. Later, I stopped by the bar, which was spotless and welcoming, and enjoyed a phenomenal drink. One of the moments that stood out most was when I was leaving for the night and it began to rain. The bellman immediately grabbed an umbrella and personally helped me to my Uber, such a small gesture that made a big impact. Check-out was just as effortless. Jen kindly ensured I was satisfied with my stay, and even during the busy rush, Kari at valet had my car ready quickly and efficiently. From start to finish, every interaction was marked by kindness, efficiency, and genuine care. My stay at the Thompson exceeded all expectations, and I will be recommending it wholeheartedly to family and friends.

Beautiful hotel, lovely rooms, good service and food. Close to public transportation Would definitely return to this hotel the next time I’m in Washington DC

The first experience was with Jennifer at front desk. She delivered amazing customer service. i was traveling with Elderly parents and needed accommodations. They way exceeded my expectations. Then the restaurant was also amazing. We did a family breakfast with close to 20 people on sunday morning. The food was wonderful but Andrew and Axil made it even better. The rooms are small but clean and nice. The hotel is nice, modern, clean, and in a perfect location BUT the service is way over the top. Thank you.

Amazing hotel and I love a hotel with a robe and slippers

Ryan was great during check in and the experience from the hotel was great. Perfect location for walking to restaurants, jumping on the metro, or getting to a Nationals or DC United game.
