Elysian Beach Resort

Location is not bad, but is not wakable at surroundings area. A trolley to redhook could be a great option if available. The beach bistro Sangrias, if they open until at least 10 or 11pm can give guests a great alternative ro stay at rhe hotel instead of going out.

We stayed in a room with a full kitchen, 2 balconies, 2 bathrooms, washer & dryer, a king size bed, and a Murphy bed. The room was absolutely beautiful! We also enjoyed the pool and the private beach. We ate at the Sangria restaurant on site and really loved the Shrimp Po Boy there. The resort is on a hill so you may have to do some walking, but you can also park closer to the beach/pool which we did once. This resort is what you'd expect from Club Wyndham, upscale with a fully stocked kitchen, and just what you'd want for a vacation. Highly recommend!

Amazing stay!! Loved it. We rented a car and beach hoped and the location was amazing. The car ferry is close too! St. John was awesome for a day too. The food onsite was delish and so was the food at red hook. We also bought groceries which was slick. We are already planning other visit back. Hot tub and pool were amazing too.

Front desk and all facilities close at 10:00 p.m. If you arrive late at night, there is nothing available. Room was dark and musty, lower level with murphy bed. When complained at Front Desk, was told the worst rooms were assigned to bookings made through Expedia, that if we wanted better rooms, to book directly. While staff was pleasant, would not recommend this hotel.

Great location for peace and quiet. Wish there was at least some night life activities. Overall, resort was in pretty great shape on the beach. Definitely, will have to take a taxi to go outside the resort but only about 15-20 minute ride for $15 per couple.

This hotel was very remote, there is nothing outside the resort that is walkable. The rooms were supposed to all have a view and we were at the very back of the resort on the first floor (which is down 3 flights of stairs) and had no view at all. Very disappointing since the best part of my beach vacation is sitting on the patio in the morning enjoying the view. All I saw was buildings in front of us, no water view whatsoever unless you held your phone up over your head and took a picture of a sliver of water. The front desk staff is ill equipped to deal with a group of 10 and did not honor the request to keep us near each other. We were promised full kitchens and not one of 5 rooms had a full kitchen. The Worldmark owner we came with is a founding member and not one of us in the group were treated anything like an owner should be and have been in other Worldmark/Wyndham properties. We were put on the back row of the resort resulting in long walks to the lobby and hundreds of stairs to any of the amenities and views of the front building instead of the ocean. Our shower had mold in the corners and the lounge chair on the patio is unusable as it is wedged between the patio rails and the AC unit that sits in your patio blowing hot air at you. There are no amenities here, no place for a group of people to gather and socialize, mosquitoes everywhere outdoors and no activities on the property. Would not ever come back to this resort. Margaritaville is nearby and has all of the activities and amenities that Worldmark and Wyndham owners expect.

First, the bad stuff: (1) WARNING: this resort is built on a steep hillside, with the beach, pool and restaurants at the bottom of the hill. Walking to and from your room to beach, etc., might mean navigating THREE long flights of stairs, as it did for us. Fortunately, my partner and I are in good shape; but if you have heart, breathing or mobility issues, be warned! [Booking.com made no reference to the layout of the resort in its ads.] (2) For $750 per nite, I expected a comfortable new mattress; instead, we got an old, lumpy Murphy bed. (3) The nite manager was under-motivated and unhelpful; I basically had to cajole her into doing her job: find me a cab that would take a credit card. Plus, I twice called the lobby number (5555), left messages, and nobody ever responded. (4) How abt opening a small lobby shop that sells staples like milk, bread, eggs, OJ? Again, at $750 per nite, guests shouldn't have to pay a cab $30 for a trip to an overpriced supermarket. (5) The location of the resort is remote and not within walking distance of anything. Bring plenty of money for cabs. Now, the good stuff: (1) the studio apt was clean, spacious, with a full kitchen. (2) Beach is beautiful and both eateries look out onto the beach and ocean. (3) Sangria is fine for breakfast or lunch. The real draw is the Caribbean Fish Market, an upscale restaurant serving wonderful seafood and meat. We ate there 3x. (4) The pool, tennis courts and gym are all very good. Bottom Line: For $750 per nite, I expected much better service, a comfortable mattress, and a room that's much more easily accessible. I wouldn't stay here again.

The room smelled smoky and unclean, the neighbors were coughing and it sounded like they were in the same room. The door lock didn’t work, the washer made our clothes smell dirtier than before we washed them, the lamp over dining table was dusty as was bathroom exhaust fan, the bed noisy and uncomfortable and to top it off there was a mouse in our room! We tried to get a room change but they would not accommodate.
