"Wonderful Service at the Bar"

10.0

We’re still enjoying our holiday and wanted to give a special mention to Edith at the hotel bar. She has been absolutely lovely from day one always friendly, smiling and happy to help. She works incredibly hard but still takes the time to chat and make everyone feel welcome. The service has been great throughout our stay, and Edith’s positive charm really stands out. It’s people like her who make a holiday that little bit more special. Thank you, Edith, for helping make our stay so enjoyable so far!

This was our second time here. Definitely a different vibe not to say bad just not the same. We did have a good time and the staff were great with the exception of the staff at the Italian restaurant. The food was good favorite was the Japanese and the Italian just wish the staff had been better at the Italian. Now to the best. Edith the bar server from the lobby bar was amazing. Margarita that takes care of selling excursions and is apart of the entertainment crew is always amazing.

"Best service of any resort!"

8.0

I love the laidback atmosphere. All of the staff are friendly, kind, and there to make your stay the best it can be. Edith was the absolute best server. If you want a server who remembers your order, suggests other options, and interacted with my group like she has known us for years!

The hotel experience was not as good as when we were here 2 years ago. Some wait staff left us with empty glasses, not all the food arrived together etc. but Edith in the front lounge bar was awesome, margarita did great. We definitely had a great time either way but sad that the hotel seemed “tired”. There is some construction going on too.

Stayed in the Privilege Club Pros Service 5/5 Staff Attitude 5/5 Food 4.5/5 Grounds 4.5/5 Pools 4.5/5 Cons Beach X/5 no fault of the resort due to all the sargasam coming in....the stench was horrible as soon as you stepped out of the room. The staff know and very apologetic to you as well. Due to erosion that has been happening at many of the resorts there is no useable beach with or without the sargasam. Due to the above and that we knew about this issue minus the stench we've decided not to rate this Beach. Accessibility 4.5/5 Given a room at check in for a 2nd floor room and elevator stopped working day 2. Rated 4/5 due to having to move rooms and Mike's coffee shop appears to only have 1 entrance with a step in while there another labeled emergency exit on the inside that people use all the time. Quick thoughts. Food was very good. Staff is DEFINETLY the best selling point thus place has..they are the best we've experienced at all price points Hopefully this resort keeps up with their maintenance. Butler was Alfredo who was excellent A very big shout out to NOE..#1 employee.. This resort was worth the money we spent..a couple hiccups but the Staff and Service out weighed any of it.

"Great chill resort for relaxation"

10.0

This was my husband and I's second time visiting this resort, and like the first time, we really enjoyed our stay. It's a pretty chill resort, so if you're expecting a club scene or partying, don't get your hopes up. The food is good, and they have different activities every day of the week. The only thing I did not like is the seaweed issue. Unfortunately, there isn't much that can be done about that. Youbwill see trucks filled with the seaweed working to get rid of it but honestly, it is a never ending job given the excessive amount coming in from the sea. Overall, I would definitely return.

"Nice Experience, Some Improvements Needed"

8.0

Went with family and friends of 22 and stayed end of May to June 2026. Did not get a welcome drink, but no one missed it- the bar was right there; couldn't check in until 3 and had 3 hours to walk around and eat and drink. The good and bad. Bad- Seaweed/Sargassum- the worst I have ever seen- and they could not keep up with clearing it-no way one could go into the ocean at all. The sun loungers were not plentiful and were reserved early A.M. by people that never returned for hours and hours- did not want to be disrespectful and sit in someone's space, but hours? Really? And of course, nothing done by management. The buffet restaurant closes and no announcement made- Sometimes too many choatis roaming- they did not bother anyone, however, opened my bag and took my ziploc'd bag of goodies. They roam in the pool restaurant at night when it's closed and that's disgusting. The Privilege pool area was much bigger than non privilege and had half the people- not sure what that is all about. They had more loungers and more empty too. The Good- The food is fine- always something to eat- buffet got boring. Few specialty restaurants and food is good. Wait staff very nice, some just are so busy doing work, were not very friendly, could be lack of English- people really tried to speak English= very nice. Pool entertainment, lively but boring- same thing daily- sure games were different but were like half an hour-they were strict about playing their games. The wildlife was nice to see- other commenters explained what was there. The rooms were cleaned- some parts missed as per usual with any cleaning in those hotels and tight schedules- beds made up nicely= were firm, 4 pillows on the bed- A/C worked well- 2 beers, 4 soft drinks and 4 water most of the times in mini fridge- balcony with chairs and table-- shower in my room did not work well- hot was cold then cold was hot and the shower head could did not stay up so had hand held all the time. The bracelet to get into the room- never have to worry about losing your key, however, the cord it was on was a tad too long; they could make it into a real plastic bracelet that doesn't come off. The bar in lobby, convenient, sports bar down the hall- oh forgot Mike's coffee- life saver- to get a sandwich if you have an early flight-- I had hot chocolate so can only comment on that- good- and the pastries, were very good. One thing is the cleaning solution they used in the hotel lobby had the strangest smell-- I could not stay in the lobby. Gentlemen in lobby and front entrance always willing to assist. Lidia in buffet and pool area very nice and help full. Tipping is a choice- they are still very nice if you don't tip. Reception was fine=- one guy, Emmanuel, really tried to assist but he doesn't listen-- I think it's lost in translation some of the things happening. But he does need to listen. I did not watch any of the night shows- but they sounded fun- you can arrange to have someone pick up your luggage when you are ready to leave. Massages on offer, no pressure. A friend took the massage and sauna and hot tub was at her disposal- she enjoyed it. There is a lagoon a fifteen minute walk past Blue Bay and the other hotel- you can swim in fresh water but cannot use the loungers- there is a shallow side and a very deep side, so not so strong swimmers stay on your side. There is a trip into town but a jewellery store pays for the bus so it's free, but they drop you off at their store first- take it or leave it-- They are trying to keep the place looking nice and see repairs done daily- while I was there they created a swing (playground) and it looked great- yes, for adults- Mosquitos, yes but not plentiful- bring your mosquito coils- The "no see ums' were in full force- got ravaged my last day there. Oh Immigration took my bug spray ( aerosol) my matches and my butane lighter that I needed to light the mosquito coils-so random they searched my bag- don't bring fruit and meat off the plane- toss it or eat it=- it will be confiscated. They are not nice. There is a tax to pay and it's also random if you are stopped and asked if you have paid it. Is this place worth going to? I would say yes! Is this place a 5 star? not much is in my budget so I would say not- I can't remember anything else, really. As soon as I hit enter I will remember more.

"A Must Visit feels like Home"

10.0

Absolutely incredible place really made special by the staff . They truly care about your experience and they are so generous with their time. Pilar is an incredible host who spent so much time ensuring we were taken care and also educating us on Mayan history which truly added authenticity to our experience such a credit. I would also like to give a huge credit to Viri and Susi who are lovely kind and always make you feel special and included , The staff at the Dolce Vita are also incredible guys so amazing never an empty glass and so friendly. This place is way more than just a resort returning for the second year I didn’t think it could be any better how wrong I was . P.S don’t miss the Mayan dinner .
