Not great relative to the price. Many add-ons to the quoted price.

I have had a week to reflect on this experience and think I can write a balanced review, but I caution anyone to adjust your expectations when booking here. We booked for 7 days for a milestone anniversary trip and it was more than we had ever spent on accomodations, so we were expecting a lot, it was not what we expected, but in the end it worked. Positives: 1. location was at the north end of town, so easy access to the park without having to navigate town traffic twice a day. 2. location was on a quiet street with a garden patio that was nice to relax on after a long hike. 3. We had the room with kitchen, so we could shop at the local grocery and prepare our own meals so we could get to hiking trails before sun up, the hotel adjusted our bill to reflect that we never used their included breakfast, which we appreciated. 4. There is some onsite parking, and we never had a problem finding a spot. 5. Bedroom and bathroom were fine, clean and comfortable. 6. The staff were fantastic, through all of our problems they were friendly, courteous, and made every effort to solve our issues. Negatives: 1. The room is in a lower level (not quite a basement) and the view was a privacy fence and windows that had not been cleaned in a very long time. Across the fence were the dumpsters for another building. 2. When we walked in, we saw mismatched, furniture that was heavily stained and the couch had collapsed in the middle and could not be used (they did come and prop the center leg back up). Carpet in the bedroom also heavily stained. 3. We were charged a $35 dollar a day resort fee, and when we asked what it was for, the first response was "room cleaning". Our last night I asked another staffer and was told it was for access to a pool and exercise room at a community center in town, would have been nice to know before our last night. 4. We like to hike all day and return about 4 pm for a rest, then go out again, the cleaner knocked on our door after 4 pm to ask if we wanted cleaning service. They came twice in the 7 days we were there. The staff and the manager we dealt with were very sympathetic and adjusted our bill significantly due to all the problems. Just don't expect the reality to match the idyllic photos and descriptions and it was an adequate place to stay for us.

Very cozy place

A good place to stay. However, there was no elevator to go up to our room. That was inconvenient for bringing up and then down our luggage. I wish I knew that before booking and then I would have stayed elsewhere.

Alpine House was comfortable and convenient to downtown. Breakfasts were very good and the staff was friendly and helpful.

The complimentary breakfast was awesome as were staff and service personnel. The king bed was very comfortable. The room rug was soiled and the A/C was very noisy. There is an elevator to 2nd floor but we had misfortune of having a room on the third floor so that we had to haul suitcases up one floor by ourselves. Otherwise very good location with walkability to main square yet away from town noise. Best breakfast by far of any place we stayed.

Saying that the property is the same as the one shown in the photos on Booking seems like a huge exaggeration... In my opinion, all the photos are Photoshopped. Let’s start with the check-in being offered only after 4 PM (!!!)... And let me point out, this is not a motel. So, in order: the terrible welcome from the receptionist (who claimed to be the manager); the dirty glass on the terrace; no air conditioning (just three bargain-store devices trying to cool the room); no safe. It's a shame, because the town really deserves hotels that live up to its name

Room is horrible no window no Aircondition you barely move in the bathroom so small you call it 4 star hotel probably you are kidding I was told they will return half of my money
