Marriott's Waiohai Beach Club

Disappointing stay and only on our 3rd day. We are owners of multiple Marriott Vacation Clubs and I understand that the nicer views are given to owners of this club. We are owners at Ko Olina so understand that very well. That being said I would have hoped after using many extra club points to get an ocean view room we would at least have a lanai we could sit on and enjoy this vacation. Did not need an amazing view of the ocean. We overlook a road and parking lot. Also the room is so dated. Crank windows, old furniture, dirty screens and a dark interior even with all the curtains open. Marriott has really left this property unattended. Food is just ok and very expensive. Was even charged an extra dollar for a little extra mayo for a 27.00 fish sandwich. Activities are lacking in comparison to Maui and Ko Olina. I love Kauai but will never stay here again. I can’t imagine spending 800.00 a night for this room. Employees are mostly friendly except for the front desk. If we could move I would.

The staff was very friendly and the location was amazing right on the beach. Parking was nice in the covered parking lot. The best was the daily room cleaning service. Everything was always nicely folded and cleaned with new towels everyday. Would definitely want to come here again

Been here 3 times in 15 years, so definitely like this Marriott property, beautiful grounds, and excellent service! However, the public beach is very popular and BUSY with many non-hotel guests and surfers using the Marriott showers and chairs. Poipu Beach is wonderful, but just be warned this isn't a "peaceful" location.

We are owners here and come every few years as we like to enjoy various MVC properties. I can say without a doubt that the Waiohai is the most poorly maintained in the portfolio. Rather than complain about the room location I would like to address the cleanliness and maintenance of the room we stayed in. It is terrible. The handles on every cabinet has a ring of stickiness and dirt around them, most cabinet doors seem ready to fall off. The sofa is totally bagged out and desperately in need of replacement. I believe if someone left this sofa out with a “free” sign on it, no one would pick it up. Stains in the carpet and obvious wear. We are located well away from the ocean, despite having an ocean view ownership which would be nice and quiet except there is a faulty pump or something at the lagoon pond that makes a strange croaking noise day and night. I know that they update the rooms every few years however, when we last visited in 2022 they were already in need of update and have not done so in this time. I would complain directly to management but what does this solve? In my experience, not much. Every year our maintenance fees increase in our ownership, but it is very obvious these funds don’t go towards maintenance or upkeep. My advise to anyone looking to stay in the area on on this island is to book elsewhere. I know we don’t plan to return again for some time, and hope that maybe in a few years they will have sorted this property out. I must mention that the staff is friendly enough, I suppose that is something. I understand this is a popular property and tons of visitors come through but it is no excuse to keep things so poorly.

Although we had an ocean view which was lovely, I think the rooms overlooking the gardens would be better as they are much quieter, and the gardens are beautiful. Nice from the pool made me keep the windows and door shut. It was super clean, but furnishings etc. need to be updated.

Absolutely perfect! The room was so comfortable. The kitchen was large. The beach was excellent. I do wish there was more restaurants on site but the pool bar/restaurant was fine and open 11-7??. The beds were very comfortable and the room was spacious and large. Not too big of a resort and able to park close to room easily

The location is great, great beach nearby

The AC in the room was very loud. It would be nice to have coffee in the lobby.
