Hyatt Place Keystone - Dillon

This "Place" is nowhere near as awful as some of the reviews here make it sound. It's not the best HP I've stayed at nor is it the worst. There is, however, a ridiculous daily $35 "resort" fee unless you're staying on Hyatt points. PROS: Kind & patient front desk staff. Views from the rear-facing rooms are nice with mountains & a pond/bog with a walkway path around. Free parking. Complimentary cookies at the front desk at 5 pm as long as they last. A free shuttle twice an hour to nearby places with which I wasn't familiar. $10 in free snacks from the grab & go shop off the lobby (although none of it is healthy). CONS: Complimentary breakfast is dismal (lukewarm French toast sticks, sausage, Canadian bacon, frozen mixed berries from a supermarket package, oatmeal/sugary cold cereals, breads). Rooms could use a paint job & refresh. Road signage is poor as finding the property drive-in entrance is a lesson in trial & error since you will pass the hotel (if you are coming from I-70) before knowing you had to turn off to enter. Fine for a night enroute elsewhere.

The Hyatt brand of hotel is my family's favorite. We had reasonable expectations for Hyatt Place since staying at many previously. This was the worst one we have ever stayed at! There are not enough parking spaces for all guests, so people were parking in the fire lane and in "no parking" zones. The paint was peeling in the bathroom of room 248. The employees were wearing exercise clothes. Food and dishes at breakfast were stacked up around the trash cans with no one clearing it away. Food was not being restocked as it ran out. The oat milk was sour... I hate to complain, but the stay was really bad! I even ordered a caesar salad for dinner and they didn't put the caesar dressing on it, and the parmesan cheese was the powdery kind you get at a pizza shop. It was an $11 salad. Please, Hyatt, fix this hotel!! It could be great! Poor management and low customer service standards. Train your employees better!

This was such a let down of a stay. I hoped for better in the mountains. Got checked into a non cleaned room. Front desk was great and very nice and put me in another room/suite. Unfortunately, this room was just as bad. Both sinks backed up IMMEDIATELY and had very low water pressure. Also, the shower water never got hot. Luke warm at best. Hairs on the shower wall and hairs in the carpet. The blackout curtain was missing but still had the chain to pull it down only, nothing came down. The door stopper was bashed through the drywall at the entrance. The carpet outside the elevator on the 6th floor had a brown trail leading in and out of it. I saw the cleaning crew but didn't see or hear any vacuums whatsoever. I asked for a late check out, which i got but at 11:30 the cleaning crew came in trying to tell me it was checkout. This place just felt very neglected and the cleaning crew didn't seem to really care. Not what I expect from Hyatt. Hyatt has lots of nice properties...this is not one of them.

The front desk employee was very kind and the views are beautiful, good location.

There was not enough parking for hotel guests, which was baffling. We were literally instructed to park wherever we could in the drive through loop that you would typically park to grab your key and then move your car. I guess thank goodness they got creative. There was also no hot water in our room, a window was jammed open so we heard road noise all night, and the buffet style breakfast left a lot to be desired...plus the dining area was just a mess. Overall it felt understaffed and unprepared for a busy night. I can't imagine ski season here.

The front desk was very accommodating, offering an early arrival and a late departure. Keystone is generally quiet during off hours and I was able to keep my window open overnight.

The rooms were nice but the common areas were a bit grimey. This hotel needs some upgrades to get it to typical Hyatt standards.

Amazing staff at the front desk - very professional and extremely helpful. The lady gave us an exceptionally good recommendation for dinner and enthusiastically answered all our questions. The lobby area is nice and has a beautiful setting on the outdoor patio. Both queen beds in the room were comfortable. The rate was reasonable for a Saturday night.

Our room on the west side got very warm, so the A/C worked overtime. The breakfast area was busy on Sunday morning and the staff seemed overwhelmed with replenishing food items and coffee.

The room was 80 degrees. AC did not work. They brought a fan and said to open window. Did not offer a room switch. Told us to turn ac off then on and that it would then work which obviously didn’t fix it. Did not answer our call to the office / front desk when it didn’t work. No one at front desk when we went down there. Will not stay again. Also had to park a long ways away and wasn’t told could park wherever on property as others did that were not even parking spots closer to hotel.

Our stay at the Hyatt Place Keystone was average. We went in summer which is an off-season time to visit, but were surprised to learn when we arrived that the bar and restaurant were closed (even though the hotel was full and it was a Saturday night). Our room was small, but clean and the bed was decently comfortable. We were unable to get a hold of the front desk or housekeeping during our stay - just a busy signal and a full voicemail. Parking was a pain, we had to park across a very busy street since everything was full by the time we arrived back to our hotel after dinner. On a positive note, they did allow us a later check-out at 12:30 which was very much appreciated. Nothing horrible but probably wouldn't stay again!
