Liuhua Hotel

checked into the room after a long flight on entering the bathroom noticed three squashed cockroaches on the floor, was cleaned on the third day. the bathroom was well worn out taps and handles chrome has peeled and worn off to the copper. carpets stained, wallpaper peeling off, fridge not cooling so drinks are warm. non smoking room requested, but room smelled of smoke. Room cleaning on requesting a second room was better, housekeeping cleaned properly. Mould was covering grout between tiles in bathroom, in both room. generally a worn out hotel. not really a 4 star more like a 4 star in the late 80s.

In the center of the garment market good for business. No need for taxis if you are in the garment busines.

i stayed in this hotel since 2008 more than 100 nights for sure , i noticed every visit worse than previous one ... this last visit come up with new 2 items : first one : they reduced the size of free bottle water in room from 0.6 ml to 0.3 ml ... second one: after you pay for excutive floor you find that the only bebifits are you can drink a coffe for free once a day and during specific time only which is after noon for 2 hours thats is all lounge service they provide with completly rude staff ...... i have now only 1 reason left to stay in this hotel LOCATION nothing else.

Second time in GZ. Last time i stayed in FOSHAN, Crowne Plaza Hotel and i guess i got spoiled. Liuhua hotel has a GREAT advantage: Its really close to the Guangzhou Railway Station, one of the subway stations that will let you get mostly anywhere in GZ. Staff speaks moderate english. Customer service is average, close to low quality. This hotel is "connected" to the wholesale markets (wholesale meaning you can buy only in bulks of 50 pieces), so you will constantly find tons of people walking around the lobby. In each floor, in front of the elevator is a person that checks everyone who comes in and out. They have a strict control on visitors. In front of my room the door was always open while they had visitors. The carpets are old. Once I entered the room, i perceived a strong smell of dust and humidity because of the carpets. The beds are hard. And i mean HARD. I had a two bedroom and had to dismantle one bed to get the mattress on top of the other bed. Still, i slept really uncomfortable. They had a decent desk and a LCD tv that had one HBO, BBC and the rest was all in mandarin. The view outside is a busy intersection with a lot of traffic. Noise level was low so this wasnt an issue. Bathrooms were old. They were clean but my toilet had a water leak that smelled awful at night. Food at the hotel was ok. 2 restaurants to choose and a Mcdonalds in the first floor. I will look for other hotels for my next stay.

I am happy with my stay, the only downside is their Resturant , which I did not enjoyed it also,no place to sit in lobby . Anyway I will back to this hotel.

Close to railway station but not the HK to Guangzhou railway station. Middle if the garment trade. Clean and pleasant.

Hotel was in a great location, however staff were slow and not helpful at all. Food was slow and not so good apart from the Chinese restaurant which was ok. Room was cleanish, beds were exceptionally hard.

When I was at the Canton Fair, I called the front desk hotel to find out the bus service hours which the Liuhua Hotel provided free service for all their guests during the duration of the fair. One of the lady answered my call and told me to wait until 6:15pm. I called again around 5:30pm to confirm and a different person answered the my phone and told me to wait until 6:10. To make the story short. No bus showed up.I was left at the fair and had to take the taxi back. The hotel manager was puzzled and clue less when I asked her.
