Hampton Inn Akron-South

It was okay for a quick stop in Nashville. Very convenient to the Grand Ole Opry. It was just a little dated which makes it feel not as clean as newer hotels.

My husband I were in Ohio for a family members celebration of Life. Check in went well. We were told our room was ready. We went to our room and found it was not ready. Check in starts at 3p. We were there about 3:15p. No big deal. We were given a different room. The room was nice and clean and served its purpose. The bed was comfy. Pillows not so much. The doors to the rooms are sprung so tight that when they close they slam shut and are very heavy doors. We could hear other guest doors slamming shut during the night. Breakfast in the morning was somewhat disappointing. They were out of some items. Potatoes werent cooked all the way through. I ended up just eating a banana and had coffee which that was good. This is just my honest experience.

The only hiccup was at check-in. The customers were looking at rooms on their phone and couldn’t decide which ones they wanted. It might have been helpful to offer 2 people to check in. The person checking is in was very nice and friendly and apologized for the wait.

The property itself was great and the staff was extremely helpful, especially the manager Shay. I will NEVER again book through Expedia though. My confirmed reservation was for 2 nights. Expedia didnt update the reservation to show 2 nights. Had to spend 1.5 hours standing at the front desk with expedia on the phone to have a room for the second night when the hotel was essentially full. Expedia offered NOTHING for the inconvenience.

Efficient, friendly, clean

Was very noisy. People (not kids, but “adults) were arguing, slamming doors, all night long. Very difficult to get any sleep. We were on the first floor and it sounded like people on the floor above us were moving furniture. Surely the night clerk should have heard all of the noise and checked it out. The hallway is not far from the front desk and echoes. The desk clerks were not friendly or welcoming. They never lifted their heads to great guests when they were entering the reception area. Even when we said “hello” first, they did not respond. A woman who appeared to be the dining area manager was most friendly and helpful. She always greeted guests cheerfully and offered any assistance.
