Outstanding boutique hotel in the quiet suburbs of Funchal. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was spacious and comfortable and hotel facilities were excellent. Food and service were excellent!

The 4 of us visited the hotel and found it to be first class , all staff were friendly and efficient. Bedroom was roomy and comfortable. The food in all three restaurants was top class. We would definitely recommend it and would visit again

I'd question it's five star rating but it is very good, service is excellent from all staff. We had Bed & Breakfast booked, the room, bed and bathroom were fine. Breakfast is a buffet with coffee/tea served to table, a very good spread of food options available. Lunch and dinner can also be booked with accomodation although we opted out for independance. The two evening meals we did have were very good, one in the main dining room and one fine dining in the colocated Mansion. We also had a couple of lunches at the summer house near the pool, all good, as was the pool. The location is a double edged sword, around 3km from Funchal old town. Walking into town can be done as it's all downhill, the return can't! But the hotel runs it's own minibus bothways between 10.00 & 18.00 and outside those hours a number 12 bus runs until at least 23.00 stopping very close to hotel. "Bolt" cabs can be used if you have the app. That was the negative about the location, the positive is the wonderful sense of peace, calm and relaxation away from the hustle and bustle. We had doubts about the location but decided to go for it and very glad we did as it was great!

Excellent hotel with very attentive, friendly and hard working staff. It has quite a long history which is worth reading up on. The grounds are stunning and as it’s smaller than some of the big central hotels, it doesn’t feel as busy. The pool and pool bar are excellent and the view from the pool bar balcony is amazing. The hotel is situated in what is basically a large tropical garden, so is a pleasure to walk around. There’s also a sauna and jacuzzi and decent gym, tennis courts and lots of the usual services including massages in your room. The old manor house serves as the al a carte restaurant, and is well worth trying during your stay. It should be noted that it’s a steep walk down into Funchal/up back to the hotel, but there are free shuttle buses and the no.8 stops close by. Would still recommend a car though, parking is available on site.

We were delighted with our stay at Quinta da Bela Vista. This is not a "shiny modern" hotel, but has an historic and "colonial" feel. Importantly the staff were really helpful and friendly; the room, with a balcony overlooking the garden, was very clean with a comfortable bed. Breakfasts are amazing for the choice offered. We stayed half board, but ate in the hotel on three occasions, once the fixed price menu in Avista Navios, and twice in less formal Casinha dos Prazeres. In all cases the food was delicious, with the wating staff attentive, but not overly so, making for relaxed occasions. Yes, the only downside is the steep hill up and out of Funchal to reach the hotel, but there is a regular service bus or a hotel minibus transfer. An adults only hotel, this was part of a Tui package, the most reasonable deal we could find.

We can't say enough about this wonderful hotel after our stay last week. It was everything we hoped for and more, from the excellent staff to the beautiful location and accommodation. The food both in the evening and at breakfast was sensational. Thank you to all the staff who helped to make our stay so memorable. We will be back!

If you are looking for a hotel with late night entertainment, bingo and karaoke, this superb hotel is not for you. If you want great service, charm style and elegance, then look no further. The food, a four course dinner every night was of the highest quality, the waiting staff are credit to the establishment. Plenty of choice for breakfast. There is a free mini bus into town 5 times a day, very much needed as the hotel is high above Funchal and although it is possible to walk down, the return trip will deter even the fittest. Swimming pool area was clean and well attended. A very nice stay

Had a great week at the hotel. We were booked in as three couples in their late 60's and we all felt the hotel was one we would happily return to. The rooms in the main building were spotlessly clean and well appointed. The food at both breakfast and dinner was very good and the 4-course half board evening meal was of a high standard. The staff throughout the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful albeit that they were clearly short staffed, along with most of the hospitality industry, it did not affect the service or staff attitude. The hotel is too far out of Funchal to walk but they do offer a courtesy bus Monday to Friday only. Taxis are around 5 Euro. Overall, a great stay and we would happily return.

Hotel and grounds are beautiful, I have never seen such diverse flowers and colours which were just stunning. Nice pool area with lots of sunbeds, there are a couple of men that work around the pool, giving out sunbed toppers, towels and parasols. These guys were nice and approachable so no complaints. The only small niggle I had was the bathrooms have shower curtains which I really don’t like, however the rest of the room was lovely and kept exceptionally clean. We walked to Funchal which only takes half an hour but there is a shuttle bus available 5 times a day Monday to Friday which drops you off and picks you up from the CR7 Hotel. The grounds are extensive and there is a pond with terrapins which I loved to go and see. There is a library where you can choose book which was handy, all in this was a fantastic visit.
