Quinta da Bela Vista - Madeira

A wonderful, traditional Quinta hotel where service is still highly valued by all the staff. Guests are properly looked after and nothing is too much trouble. The food is some of the best we have tasted - we would recommend half board to everyone as the menus are interesting and packed with local produce. The pool area is clean and has wonderful views over the bay of Funchal. In the evenings we strolled through the gardens and were surrounded by the beautiful flora that is part of Madeira’s environment - the historic setting brings beauty at every turn and there are no shortage of quiet corners to take a moment and admire.

Outstanding boutique hotel with superb gardens and swimming pool. Hotel is located in the suburbs of Funchal with free parking. Staff were extremely helpful. Room was spacious and well-appointed and had a balcony overlooking the gardens. Food was excellent!

Excellent hotel - wonderful breakfast with a wide range of fresh foods that caters for every taste. The restaurant (Horatio and the team) and all the pool restaurant staff are fantastic and many are there for decades. That in itself says a lot about any hotel. Reception staff were friendly and very welcoming and helpful. Rooms are spotless and well maintained by the house team. The views from this Quinta over the whole Funchal bay are spectacular. Beautiful gardens too. I’ll be returning now that I discovered Madeira and Quinta Da Bela Vista. Highly recommended.

This hotel did NOT disappoint. Beautiful grounds, extremely friendly and helpful staff, comfortable English colonial style - it’s lovely. Great location- the complimentary bus service to Funchal city centre is super - book in advance. Massive supermarket 4 mins walk away which includes dry cleaners, nail salon, leather repairs. Local bus service to town and Monte palace gardens near the supermarket. The food was excellent- breakfast fit for a king. The pool area menu was excellent- the fillet steaks were FANTASTIC. €26 - the best value ever. This family owed hotel is a great place to stay in a really quiet location. The staff are well trained and very very good at their jobs. Local tours can be booked through the hotel on arrival as well. Only small niggle - wine was a little pricy ( € 8 - minimum price per glass) . We would have no hesitation staying here again - it was such a relaxing, nurturing experience. Old fashioned in the very best sense.

Fantastic staff and lots of amenities available provided you book in advance e.g. tennis court, sauna, yoga. Wouldn’t say it was 5-star due to food quality in respect to the price and decor could do with an update. Overall, would recommend.

The Quinta da Bela Vista is a little out of the way but the location is compensated for by the beautiful building, interior decoration and furnishings and mature grounds. The rooms are large and well equipped. The staff are the best I have had the pleasure to be served by, polite, ultra efficient and helpful, a credit to the management . The pool is relaxing and clean with a handy bar and snack restaurant. Food is of good quality especially breakfast where you have a wide choice whatever your favoured start to the day. The whole place is quality and has a charm harking back a hundred years, thank you for a great holiday.

Lovely stay at Quinta da Bela Vista, very quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed the beautiful breakfast buffet, pool bar and facilities across the grand estate. The pool and tennis court use was a highlight. It was also handy to have the mini bus service on weekdays to go into the centre of Funchal. Great time we will be back!

A beautiful hotel, rooms are spacious and clean. Pool is a little on the cold side, but other than that a pleasant surrounding. Good was lovely, breakfast buffet has plenty of choice as has the pool side bar and restaurants. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. First time here and a lovely experience.

This was our 2nd visit to the hotel. Came here last year. Its a lovely hotel. With amazing views. Stayed in the deluxe suite rooms which are lovely. And the beds are really comfortable. The food in the hotel is really good. The a l carte restaurant in the Manor house in the grounds of the hotel is excellent would highly recommend it. All the staff are amazing. Can't do enough for you. But I want to say Sonia is so lovely. Even remembered us from last year. I would definitely go back a third year. And i would highly recommend it.
