Breakfast was great and delivered in a picnic basket. Good portions and value. Rooms were comfortable, clean and quiet.

In room coffee was available but not great

I do wish the room we stayed in had window screens so we could open the windows and enjoy the ocean breeze.

Location and room quality

Service … hardly effusive and welcoming. We arrived early after a long drive and asked to use a rest room. Our room wasn’t ready which we expected but didn’t expect to be told to go to a public toilet down the road. The pool and jacuzzi were out of action and were not informed prior to arrival otherwise we would have cancelled and gone to the hotel next door

When we arrived early (12 rather than 3) we were very happy to see this lovely property overlooking the beach. Not surprisingly we were told our room wouldn’t be ready till 3 and asked if we could use the restroom. Unfortunately, after a car journey from Carmel we were told to use the public toilets down the road. Not the welcome we expected! We then found out ( no advance warning ) that the pool and jacuzzi were out of action . This was the main reason, along with good reviews, that we booked the hotel! They did tell us their sister property had a pool a short drive away but if you’re staying for one night not an ideal solution. Room at the hotel was nice but our greeting and the lack of amenities somewhat spoiled our stay. Lots of other hotels along the bay , some with pools! My advise would be to try them first

We love the Cambria area and have often wanted to stay at moonstone beach. The rooms and property are very quaint and it lived up to our expectations. The staff were very polite and helpful. We will certainly stay again!
