Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Price We stayed at Pestana Kruger Park and paid approximately R4,000 per night. As this is an international-rate property, we expected a significantly higher standard of cleanliness, maintenance, and guest safety. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of that expectation. The units are constructed of thatch roofing and wood, which makes fire safety absolutely critical. Shockingly, we did not see a single fire extinguisher in or near our unit, nor was one readily available. This felt extremely unsafe and concerning. The room was not properly cleaned. Floors were clearly not vacuumed and appeared to be mopped instead — using what seemed to be the same mop as the bathroom, which is extremely unhygienic. The carpet was so dirty that every time our baby was in her walker, her feet turned black. The balcony, which overlooks the river and should be a highlight of the stay, was unusable. Every morning it was covered in animal droppings (appearing to be bathroom waste), and it was never properly cleaned. There were several maintenance issues in the room: The towel rail was loose and hanging. The TV remote did not work, and we had to manually operate the television. During our stay, I developed an itchy skin reaction. When I approached reception to ask for basic first aid assistance or antihistamines, they were unable to help. One night, there was a bat in our room. On another night, I woke up with something crawling over my face, which was extremely distressing, especially as we were staying with a baby. We also visited the spa, which was a major disappointment. The therapist appeared unqualified and lacked even basic spa etiquette, which is unacceptable for a hotel of this price and reputation. Overall, this experience did not reflect the standard one would expect for the price paid or for an internationally branded hotel near a world-renowned destination.

I like the lodge itself, customer service was very good. Enjoyed the pool alot. All round good stay. I loved the food

Some renovations on the go in front of some of the rooms. Spoils the views a little.

Die Lage am Crocodile River mit Blick auf den Krüger Nationalpark ist unbeschreiblich. Das sehr aufmerksame Personal und die Halbpension war sehr angenehm. Für einen nächsten Besuch in der Region würden wir wieder hier buchen.

Das Bad und einige Möbelstücke schienen etwas in die Jahre gekommen.
