Imperial Hotel Gold Coast

Absolutely fabulous hotel , food fantastic,staff excellent,special mention of Paula in restaurant who went out of her way to be helpful,however after paying our account ,two days later we found a further deduction from our credit card ,my wife called the hotel and was told the deduction was for a meal we had consumed, the money was refunded minus a credit card charge,more lengthy phone calls and the credit card surcharge was refunded,I wonder why our credit card details have been retained after the original bill was paid,and how we had been charged for what turned out to be someone else’s meal bill

Overall my stay at this property was very enjoyable. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was a good size and the beds were very comfy. The room was also clean and tidy. The buffet breakfast had a very good selection, with a view of the massive pool area. A very good place to stay.

How disappointing!! Why why did Versace go???? The rooms smell of mould. There are no luxury items such as towels, bed linen, cutlery in the suite. There are no complimentary nuts there is no Moèt!!!!!!! It’s just old and run down. The marina mirage is sooo depressing! Hardly any shops! What will happen when it becomes a hotel this hotel will shut down!! No never again will not recommend staying here it’s gone, finished, has been. So sad!

We had a lovely time celebrating my husband’s 40th and were grateful for a free upgrade and small gift - a nice gesture that made the experience feel more special. Though the hotel overall is very tired and really needs a facelift. It doesn’t feel like a 5 star. Paintwork was chipped and stained, the pool area didn’t have enough umbrellas or lounge cushions, pool towels were stained, water glasses were old and faded, and they didn’t have enough seats or even space at the pool bar. The room was nice but tired again. They only gave us two towels so I had no separate towel for my hair. At a 5 star hotel, you expect these small things to be noticed and taken care of. The buffet was good, but not hugely impressive. No eggs to order for example. Though I did appreciate the barista coffee.

Stunning entrance and lobby, staff and cleaning crew were lovely and always very welcoming with a friendly greeting every time you passed by. Room was fine for us and beds were very comfy. However the lighting in bathroom was our downfall. Very dim in shower, toilet aswell as main basin. We couldn't apply makeup in any mirror but lucky there was a light up desk mirror in the cupboard. Still would be nice to have the option of brightness. Furniture and fixtures in room do need an upgrade as you can see a lot of wear and tear and just general aging in all things. Scuff marks on all walls need a lot of attention throughout the hotel but overall nice little stay.
