The employees there were friendly and helpful. The hotel and the room I stayed in was clean. The wine there was delicious.

The check in was very fast, we got the room we wanted, next to swimming pool, the room was clean and very comfortable, the swimming pool was perfect

Great location and clean room. Our only negative was another group with amplified music with glass and beer caps all by the pool on Saturday night. The only con with boutiques is not having people on property until the pool is closed.

We had a really serious infrastructure problem with our room during the first 24 hours that made it unsuitable to stay in any longer. ... not due to us, and not due to anyone working the front lines at the hotel. We were also awakened that morning at 8am by a persistent chain saw not far from our door. We flew a lot of miles to PS to get away from the city and have a vacation... and boom.. chainsaw. there is nothing restful about a chainsaw at 8am. I couldn't even go sit outside and have breakfast in a shady spot in a chair. I was tired. I wanted to sleep. It sucked. We've stayed here a few times over several years. Prior to the incident, we noticed that the rooms have been really feeling run down... they're clean and staff are clearly working themselves hard to keep things nice, but for lack of a better word, it's becoming shabby... worn out - room refrigerator (a mini fridge) had no shelf and no holder for cans in the door, so it was impossible to store anything in it - trims are just old, and furnishing are worn - air conditioners are extremely loud when they cycle off and on. I don't know about you, but this wakes me up.. and when they're on, they blow so much air that you're too cold, or too hot if you shut it off, or in a wind storm - basic infrastructure maintenance is lacking - marketing materials and the binder of information about the room contained numerous misspellings and poorly executed marketing speak. Did this affect the quality of the stay? No. Does this affect the impression left about the place? Yes. (I found the binder AFTER the disaster with the room, so it was sort of ironic to see the hotel self-describe as providing new levels of luxury and so on -- don't make exaggerated claims you can't back up. This hotel is nice. It's really charming when things are working. It's modest in some ways and that's totally fine with us. We want to love it. But the marketing materials present a picture that is simply not realistic the way it's presently run. In short, they are letting this place go and see to favor the higher-end Triada across the street. Now, I must also say that the person running the desk, Aleena, acknowledged the severity of the problem we experienced, took it quite seriously, and acted rapidly and decisively to save the day and get us into a new lodging that worked out perfectly fine for us. We are grateful to her for her efforts and for turning what could have been a very bad, stressful thing that didn't end, into only a stressful thing that only lasted a couple of hours (and none of it her fault). I'm glad the people who make things work are empowered to solve problems. But it's also disappointing to see that the property is just not being refreshed as it deserves. I think there is wasted potential at this property and some thoughtful, conscientious refreshes would make a difference. Maybe business is hard now, but if the trend continues, the hotel isn't going to thrive, and that would be a shame.
