"Not up to 4-star standard - needs the Hotel Inspector to give it the once over."

I wouldn't rate this a 4-star hotel. Was booked for an adapted room on the 1st floor (one of party having rheumatoid arthritis). On check-in was given non-adapted room on 4th floor. However, they did change it to 1st floor but still non-adapted and so guest could not use bath or shower... no safety grab rails. Room didn't smell or look very clean. Quite grubby. Dirty windows. Dust on top of kettle. Only one chair for 3 guests. Blue toothpaste all up the back of bathroom door which hadn't been cleaned off. Stained carpet. At 4.10am one morning a male guest shouting aggressively in the corridor waking everybody up. On another morning around same time noisy clubbers outside on their way home woke us all up. If you need any fresh air and open the window, it is extremely noisy with heavy traffic, also on route to the hospital and not far from police station so passing sirens on the hour every hour! Breakfast was okay and reasonable choice (buffet style). Evening meals were unappetising and mostly inedible... nursing home meals spring to mind... Watery soup (only one bread roll allowed). The main courses Gordon Ramsey would have chucked in the bin - eg: 1 small piece of overcooked white fish (was rock hard) with tomato ragu sauce covering it, 2 tiny florets of broccoli, 5 slices off a medium carrot, 1 small potato cut in half. Dinner not served until 7pm and only when the dining room was full. No coffee offered after dinner. Despite all the above, the local staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. We will not be staying again. Okay if you are attending an event at Utilita arena and just having B&B but for any longer, no wouldn't recommend!

The card keys were a nightmare. We had to refresh our keys 5 times to enable them to work . Very frustrating and time wasting
