The Lord Nelson Brewery Hotel

We loved our stay from the start. The staff we lovely and very helpful, so nice to walk in to a big smile. The accommodation is basic pub accommodation with ensuite. It's clean, comfortable, warm, safe, quiet and beautiful. Don't bother booking here if you don't want to walk up stairs as there is no elevator, nor should there be. It's 183 years old!!! Just appreciate the history!

Fantastic position, lots of character. A lot of stairs so may not suit those with mobility issues.

The rooms were clean and warm, the bar staff who showed us to our room were very friendly and helpful.

Good place to stay short time. Staff were friendly. Good location to walk in the city centre.

Wonderful quaint little place - loved it!

Loved the pub downstairs. Staff friendly and accommodating. However, room tired, no water pressure in shower, room cold not able to adjust temperatures. Windows rattled. A lot of road noise affecting sleep. Bed not very comfortable.

Top floor premium room is spacious and quiet

Our room was clean and spacious. The food at the brewery was very good. The only downside is there’s no lift, but we survived!

It is so great to have a wonderful historic building like this that still operates as a great pub and a great brewery.

The hotel left a bit to be desired. I could see how it might be been quite nice at one stage but it's in need of some maintenance and upkeep. Staff were all friendly and helpful. And the dark ale from the pub was probably the best I've ever had. Truly exceptional beer!
