Lovely hotel just off motorway as we were travelling to Birmingham from Scotland and needed a stop off. Evening meal was good as was the breakfast with helpful staff. 1st room was not suitable as we could hear the fans from the ventilation units. 2nd room given quickly and no fuss, was absolutely fine looking over the garden.

"Rude and inconsiderate customer service from a so called manager"

the room was very nice, clean, comfortable, and provided a great night’s sleep. The hotel itself appears well maintained, and the room met my expectations.

Unfortunately, the customer service from the night manager let the stay down considerably. I checked in at around 11:30pm and found him to be rude from the very beginning. Later, I called reception to ask whether a one-hour late checkout would be possible, and the response I received was simply that it would cost an additional £25, with no attempt to be welcoming or accommodating. I also called reception later requesting two toothbrush kits and a sewing kit. Rather than simply assisting, the night manager replied, “So you came with no toothbrushes?” which I felt was unnecessary and unprofessional. He also stated that the hotel did not provide sewing kits. However, a few minutes later, a different member of staff arrived at my room and delivered all the requested items without any issue.
