Hotel Scala Frankfurt City

This Hotel is so wonderful hotel, and the staff so excellent staff. But the rooms before have smoking inside it, but now no smoking. I hope if it is possible to make some rooms with smoking inside only not outside.

This is the second time staying here, as it was a business trip I didn't get to pick the hotel but not a problem as I had been before. As with my previous visit, the staff are friendly and efficient, the rooms are clean and the main bedroom spacious. Facilities include aircon, TV, free wifi, mini bar (chargeable). There is only one elevator but as this is a small hotel it is not an issue. The location of the hotel is good, being close to bars and restaurants and the U bahn and Zeil is only 5 minutes walk away. Breakfast was a selection of meats, cheese, fruits and cereals plus bacon, sausage and scrambled eggs. I am not sure if this is a family run hotel, but it does have that feel to it and if I am lucky to have to come back to Frankfurt I would stay here again.

Very excellent "basic' accomodation. Great value. Great location. 3 min from the metro. This is not the Westin - but the bed feels the same and 1/3 the €'s

Some of the non-smoking rooms were previously smoking rooms, same carpets etc. That means that despite that the hotel claims that the rooms have been deeply cleaned, they absolutely reek of smoke. Especially in hot weather. For an asthmatic this is bit of a disaster.... If you are concerned with fire safety it is good to know that there is only one staircase, no alternative. Also the toilet flushes constantly if sit down and do not lean forward.

The hotel Scala is superbly located next to the Pedestrian Zone near the Altstadt but it is showing its age. Old-fashioned florescent lighting, dated colors and an elevator that felt like it was from the Soviet Union. Awkward bathroom that is ready for new fixtures. Breakfast was adequate with fresh scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, assorted breads, cold-cuts, muesli and juices.

The hotel is clean and quiet. I greatly appreciated its location in downtown close to many facilities (shops, university, museums, ...). The lady who works at the lobby in the evening is very kind, professional and accommodating.

The beds were amazingly comfortable and well maintained. The bathroom was clean and the staff very friendly. Location was perfect. The room is only missing some toiletries (you only get one type of gel that works as soap/shampoo). As for amenities, the hotel is small and it only has a dining hall as a shared space, but you are in a great neighborhood, so no need to stay in.

Centeal location, nice rooms, and very friendly staff.

not fancy, pretty basic. right next to the main shopping area which includes many food courts / restaurants. the rooms are good enough for a 3 stars hotel. I didn't have breakfast, but the dining area seemed clean and well organised.

The hotel was very nice. The staff was amazing. Great location.
