"Comfortable Hotel on outskirts of town"

Ideal for a city break, very clean quality rooms, short drive or bus ride to town centre. Good restaurants and pubs close by. Helpful friendly staff. Downsides: many rooms not fully accessible by lift - parts of the hotel involve lots of stairs. The hotel is on a main road although fully double-glazed. I found the hotel very hot and had to have the electric fan (provided) on all night which I would not expect to need in March.

Staff all very helpful & welcoming & useful (but tight) car parking on site. Breakfast lovely & reasonably priced. Bed very comfortable, decoration could do with a spruce up in places.

Good value, very friendly staff, room adequate & what we expected for the money. Good location, great amenities. Comfy bed. It was all let down by the noise from the corridors at night. we were on the ground floor. The walls & doors must be paper thin. The cleaning cupboard was next door to our room which added to the noise in the morning. There was a door outside which banged extremely loudly at regular intervals in the morning. Everything time the neighbouring guests went into their room it sounded like they were coming through our door. My partner slept through but not a very good night's sleep for me at all. A real shame because otherwise it was good value.

Stayed one night here. Friendly staff, reasonable price, cleaned and comfortable room. It takes about 5-10 minutes to the city centre by bus. Very convenient.

"Clean and comfortable with a touch of class"

Every Best Western hotel has it quirks and this one is unusual in that it comprises some old Victorian houses that have been joined together. The result is an upstairs-downstairs journey to your room with your suitcases, which is not ideal for less abled guests. However, the room itself was very comfortable and the bathroom sparkling. Reception staff are friendly and efficient and there are complimentary home-made choc-chip biscuits on offer on an ongoing basis - a nice touch. The restaurant has a good selection of food although there are a number of restaurant choices in the local area. WiFi wasn't high-speed, but adequate for connecting.
