Fairlawns Hotel and Spa

We had such a wonderful time recently at one of the Christmas Party Nights. The evening was fabulous from start to finish. Upon arrival, we were given a free drink (Prosecco, orange juice or beer). We were then invited to take a seat at our table. The tables were beautifully decorated, well equipped with seasoning, sauces and the drinks we had ordered were already in an ice bucket waiting for us. The service was impeccable and extremely well organised. Nothing was too much trouble for the waiting staff and they went above and beyond for us. The canapés were delicious, followed by a warm bread roll and the 3 courses were some of the best we have eaten at a festive party night. The magician was also very good and a lovely touch. The DJ asked around for the music we would like, we did find the music wasn’t much to our taste and due to being at the back of the room, we weren’t able to hear the music all that well. Nonetheless, we had a fabulous time and will definitely return next year 🤗

Myself and my fiancé had a fantastic stay at the Fairlawns. The room, atmosphere and spa were fantastic with very friendly staff. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised as our room was upgraded for my fiancés 30th birthday. We will definitely be returning

Have stopped at the hotel for the first time this year and spent 3 hours in the spa with my Husband and then came back last week for a whole spa day with my Sister. There were a few glitches at the beginning, which is very unlike Fairlawns, one being that we had not been assigned a table, so was sat at someone else's at breakfast. Sadly the free aqua massage is no longer included in the spa day we booked. We have been lucky to visit the spa for quite a few years and really love this place, but, and it's rather a large one, we have noticed in the last few visits that there are customers that take no notice of the fact that it should be a peaceful experience. There was a guy on his phone by the pool, people talking loudly in the experience areas and actually in some of the steam rooms. etc etc. Really really wish that something could be done about this as it's putting us off coming back, even if it's staff reminding people when they arrive to be aware that it's supposed to be a peaceful environment. We really don't want to find somewhere else to go, but when you pay a good amount of money to go there, you really want it to be a calm stress free oasis. Have given 4 stars. It would have been 5 if it hadn't been for these issues. Have to add that the staff are always so lovely here.

We have come here many times over the years and always had a stay and dine package which includes breakfast and £40pp allowance to use in the restaurant towards food only. The facilities and staff here are amazing however to be able to use the spa facilities during your stay it is now an additional £30pp for a maximum of a three house use. This should be included in the package when you’re paying over £300 a night to stay. For a hotel I feel the drink prices are also above average so remember to pop to the local off licence on your way and take your own for your room.

We recently visited on 15.11.25 for Afternoon Tea! Service and food was excellent. Staff very attentive and a lovely welcome on arrival. Great selection of food choices on both the regular and vegetarian afternoon tea. We have visited a lot places for afternoon tea including the Ritz and I have to say this is up there! Thank you for a wonderful time! We shall be returning soon.

I wanted to write a review to praise all the staff we encountered when we came for Afternoon tea. So welcoming, attentive and honestly the best service I’ve had in a long while. Thank you x Also I wanted to mention a particular female member of staff who was so kind towards my daughter.. I’m sorry I didn’t get her name but she coloured in a picture for you to put on your fridge as a thank you :-) Food was great too!

Superb service again from a professional team at The Fairlawns Hotel in Aldridge. All staff are very friendly, efficient & attentive. The whole team make this a special place to stay when I am visiting family in Walsall. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area. Superb breakfast & evening meal too. Really looking forward to our next visit this weekend - thank you Team!

I was really excited to visit Fairlawns Spa for my birthday, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing. The spa itself is beautiful, and the staff at reception were friendly, but the rules around phone use and filming were not communicated clearly. There’s no communication about the “no phones allowed in the spa” rule neither online, during booking, nor at check-in. I discovered the spa through TikTok and Instagram, both from videos shared by other guests and by the spa itself, which gave the impression that filming and taking photos would be fine. When I began filming short clips of the décor and facilities (making sure not to include any other guests), another guest approached me extremely rudely and insisted that phones weren’t allowed and that there were “signs everywhere,” which was not true. Only after she complained, a staff member asked to tell us not to film, which was confusing because there were no signs visible and this rule was never communicated beforehand. From what I’ve seen online, many other guests have filmed and shared content at the spa, so this “rule” does not appear to be consistently applied. Unfortunately, this confusion put a damper on what was meant to be a special birthday experience. I’d spent over £300, travelled over 3 hours to the spa and I truly regret visiting. While the facilities are lovely, I would advise that the spa clearly communicates their phone/filming policies in advance to avoid similar disappointments. For anyone hoping to book for a celebration, please be aware that their filming and phone policies are unclear, so I wouldn’t recommend visiting if you want to take photos or videos during your special day.

We celebrated our wedding at the fairlawns in October 2025. From start to finish the hotel were outstanding. They are attentive, understanding and very well organised. The hotel itself is very clean and tidy, and the staff cannot do enough to accommodate. Cannot recommend this hotel enough. Thanks to all the team for helping us celebrate our special day.

Visited Restaurant 178 last night with friends. Only ever been for Sunday lunch but tried eve dinner and it was amazing. The choice was not extensive, especially the starters, but the food was so beautifully cooked and presented. Staff are lovely and very friendly but professional. Our visiting friends were delighted with their meals and definitely want to return. One thing to change is to please print the menus in black instead of pale grey. Not sure why this has become a trend in many places as its just hard to see in low lighting settings and makes no sense. Had to use mobile phone torch to read it and I've had replacement lenses and have good vision!
