Booked quite last minute for a trip to visit family. Read some reviews and was a little worried but we only needed a place to sleep. Turns out we had nothing to worry about. What lovely owners and staff! Everyone who we encountered was absolutely lovely, from checking in, to breakfast and then checking out. Rooms were great for the price we paid, comfy beds, kettle, tea and coffee, TV, lovely towels etc and even a personalised note. We didn't eat an evening meal as we arrived quite late but really appreciated the offer of a complimentary drink if we had done. Breakfast was lovely and the dining room was a large, bright space to sit and eat. Would definitely return as would much rather give my business here than a big corporate brand when they go out of their way to make an effort.

Some reviews state that the hotel is tired and dated but it adds to the charm. Don't let reviews put you off.

AVOID AVOID AVOID Dreadful facilities, falling down and unclean venue and the facilities are nowhere near advertised. Black mould in room, and wont give you a refund no matter how poor the service they provide Better off saving the money and booking the spa down the road. Dreadful institution with terrible management. I wouldn't wish mt worst enemy a stay here, shocking hotel.

Very nice hotel with friendly helpful staff. The swimming pool and liesure facilities are excellent. Easy to find, ample parking and an easy 10 minute drive to Chester town centre. So good, we stayed an extra night.

Unfortunately, there was very little to like about this property. The hotel felt outdated, the room location was highly inconvenient, and the staff were unhelpful when we raised our concerns. What disappointed us most was the way the situation was handled when we requested assistance and ultimately had to leave.

Despite it being a busy holiday period, the staff worked diligently and remained incredibly professional and helpful throughout our stay. ​Outstanding Service ​Every single department deserves a shout-out. The service was top-tier—professional, friendly, and always ready to go the extra mile. You can really feel that the team cares about their guests. ​A Culinary Delight ​The restaurant is simply "finger-licking good" (palce lizać!). They serve delicious, home-cooked meals that feel authentic and fresh. During my stay, I tried several dishes: ​Fish and Chips: Perfectly cooked and crispy. ​Chicken Curry: Bursting with flavor and very satisfying. ​Rosemary Chicken Burger: Absolutely divine and unique. ​Summary ​If you are looking for a place with a fantastic atmosphere, expert service, and a kitchen that hits the spot every time, I highly recommend this hotel. Thank you to the whole team for making our Easter so special!
