Derby Midland Hotel, BW Signature Collection

Great location

Nice room & bed. Nice food but tiny portions !

Rooms were incredibly hot, breakfast was cold and burnt, inedible some of it.

Room rather small but had everything required. Comfortable and warm.

We had a lovely stay. The staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful, the room was delightful and the food we had (1 dinner and 2 breakfasts) was superb. If you read this and think we’re easily pleased, we’ve stopped at the Fairmont Beijing and Radisson New York in recent times and this was equally as enjoyable. Can recommend. Thank you.

A few issues with fabric of the building - but, then it is old! The architecture reflects the Victorian granduer of the Midland Railway Company.

In need of a refurb. Excellent building just needs tidying up inside

In its day this was probably a very grand hotel however it is now looking a bit tired and needs bringing up to date. The shower was poor there was no facility for phone charging (usb) in the room, the rooms weren't heated very well, breakfast at £15 each was not good value, basically they need to look what Premier inn etc offer for £50

Overall a lovely hotel. Its clean and has everything you need. And the room is a good size. Only problem was with check in, where there was alot of confusion. Friends of ours being checked into our booked rooms when they had their own booked. A couple of the rooms were also allocated as city rooms, which are nowhere near big enough for 2 adults. Even thoigh we had booked classic doubles. But they did swap the rooms for us anyway. Just a bit of a mess but they girl on reception sorted it and so all was fine. Would stay here again as it is a lovely hotel :-)
