Derby Midland Hotel, BW Signature Collection

Great Service and very efficient. Breakfast excellent. Evening meal OK

Beds clean and comfortable but the double bed was up against a wall. The room and duvet were too warm for early October. Amenities were good. Nice bathroom. Hotel carpets and furniture were in reasonable condition. Food was excellent but not enough bar staff for what was a full hotel. The fabric of the building needs renovation. Old window frames causing mould build up which transferred to the net curtains. We were placed on the top floor and the lift only went up to the first floor in the part of the hotel that we were in so access to the room was via stairs which was difficult for older people such as myself. Staff were polite and friendly. Overall the stay had some problems but the staff and the food made it an enjoyable weekend overall.

We are regular visitors to Derby and find that this hotel fits exactly what we need when we are there. We never drive when we are in town so the proximity to rail and taxi service can’t be beat. It is a short walk to the centre of town and we have a favourite walk along the Derwent River to Darley’s and back that we do virtually every day that we’re in town.

Room was clean. Bed too small for a couple. Windows had mould and rotten in some parts. When out having a meal with friends on the Saturday night I got a call from hotel reception asking if I would return and move my car as new guests needed a parking space. I informed the receptionist No, and gently reminded her we had paid for parking for the duration of our stay....needless to say this put a dampner on our night. That will be our 3rd stay at the hotel,will seriously think twice before I stay there again.

Nice hotel, with nice clean rooms. Staff was very welcoming.

Booked through Expedia who had overbooked the suites . Was given choice to downgrade room or change hotel. Was staying in this hotel for a reason and did not want to move hotel but disappointed did not get to stay in room that we had booked. Not hotel staff fault but after travelling 4hrs to get there was very disappointed. Nevertheless bed very comfy and complimentary drinks given for the room mess up.

Will be staying there again, as we visit Derby to see family often. Best one we have stayed in. Thankyou.

Hotel next to Railway station. Ideal for my visit to Derby. Nice clean and spacious room. Comfortable bed, could do with updating shower as difficult to control temperature. Would stay again if in Derby.

Lovely hotel. Very clean, comfy and staff friendly. A few little things my room had a funny patch on the ceiling from a leak or something, just didn't look nice. My window was open when I arrived so my room was freezing! Air trapped in pipes, when running the hot tap it spluttered a lot and shower temperature was harder to control then I'd of liked. Last little thing, ordered a drink at the bar to take up to my room. Was offered a double which I accepted however it was put into a tiny glass so was extremely strong as there wasnt much room for the mixed. Also the lemonade came out of an open plastic bottle, once I'd got into my room I realised this was completely flat, so didn't tazt3 good at all. As I was the furthest room for the bar I couldn't be bothered to go back.
