Donington Manor Hotel

It's good value for money. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was large, not very warm until we ut electric fire on. No heat on towel rail though. Hotel and some furnishings a bit tired. Needs tlc I think

No breakfast. Too expensive

Hotel was too cold. No heating on when hit there. Radiator in bedroom jot working was like a fridge. But a heater was supplied and rad fixed

Decor felt a little dated and tired. Though room was clean, bathroom had a few odd marks/stains here and there.

Booked here for 3 people to share a room near the airport . Advertised with a restaurant , bar , reception etc . We arrived at 2pm for check in to find it in darkness and all locked up . Virtually no phone signal there to ring anyone up. So we went across road to the castle inn to use their WiFi .( loverly pub) . Got hold of someone about 3 pm ish who said she be at reception. We went over and she was there a very friendly girl who showed us to our rooms ? . Sorry do you mean room ? No the hotel is shift so we put you in 2 rooms in an outside bit . Room had 2 electric heaters in it and was like a tropical rain forest with the heat and the damp . The room was shocking as in shocking. . Smelled fusty and damp , plug socket hanging off the wall that had been stuck on with blue tack !!! A extension lead nailed to the bathroom wall for to and kettle . The bathroom what I could see of it as lights didn’t work looked like something out a horror film . Too late to do anything so went to sleep . Told other lad not to bother coming as it’s a dump . At 11.30 pm I was awoken by some guy banging on my window ! . His car was in car park and barrier had gone down and he did not have a code . I took him to reception that was locked up rang after hours number no answer so I went back in . £90 I paid for this and it was disgusting

Everything! . I’m not one to complain but this place was disgusting . We start with the lady on reception who was very nice and friendly . We arrived for our 2 pm check in to the place locked up , empty and in darkness . Impossible phone signal there so went to pub opposite and connected to WiFi . 3 pm got hold of someone who said she meet me at reception. We booked purposely here as it had room to accommodate 3 ppl . She said bar is closed , restaurant not open , in fact hotel shut so put you in 2 rooms in stable area . The room was damp and 2 electric fires at full pelt made it feel like a tropical rain forest . The windows did not open so went had to keep door open to try and vent the heat out , the kettle was on the window chill connected to an extension lead nailed to the bathroom wall ?? The socket on the other wall was stuck on with blue tack !! . The old bed was more like a hammock. The bathroom lights did not work. Only one low dim light so impossible to shave . Black damp on ceiling. The bathroom was something I’d expect in a squat and thought I’d be cleaner to me not have a shower . Then at 11 pm I awake to banging on my window so had to go out to see what’s happening and some guy can’t get his car out as barrier gone down and not been given a exit code !. I return back to the squat where the wind has got up and some stable door slamming all night . It is hands down the worse place I have ever stayed at .tried to contact hotel and nothing g back from them .
