Cabaña Barlovento

This is a special place. We booked a cabana directly over the water. If knew it was going to be rustic; it was. I had read that it was going to be loud; it was. It was not gentle waves washing up on shore, but rather crashing waves and howling winds. The provided ear plugs helped. If this isn’t for you, they have nice hotel-style rooms attached to restaurant. Speaking of the restaurant, the food was excellent all around. The separate bar was also nice.

The bathroom was large but down 13 steps from the room. Not ideal in the night.

We stayed in the cabaña overlooking the ocean with no walls/window and it was an amazing experience. The bed is comfortable and it was just lovely listening to the waves and waking up watching the ocean. We stayed for one night only and I would have wished we stayed for at least two. Although if I stayed longer than that I would probably chose and more conventional hotel room. The area is absolutely beautiful and we saw lots of birds, iguanas and a cayman from the grass terrace. The pool is also lovely.

If staying more then a couple of nights the restaurant might feel limited.

Roaring sound of the surf just below our suite, superb breakfast, attentive and competent staff, unlimited filtered water, good restaurant, surrounded by birdlife.

Loved the location, the staff were very helpful, the service was profesional. The place is very relaxing.

It was not possible to regulate the room temperature, so the first night was a bit hard. The second night was not bad.

The location is breathtaking, straight on the ocean. The staff is outstanding, really good breakfast. The restaurant serves great food at the right price.

The bed is a bit small

Loved the location and quick access to Playa Los Angeles, a private beach which I would argue is better than Tayrona. The staff were incredibly accommodating and the dining on site was great!

Great to be over the ocean but the waves crashing are louder than you’d expect!

The location was perfect. The professionalism of the workers was outstanding. They all were very helpful. It was right by the entrance of the Tayrona Park which we went to explore. I will definitely recommend this place to others.
