Gator Town Inn

Property has been updated inside. I was given a handicapped room so I can’t state if my room was typical or not. The bathroom looks really nice and modern. The room was very clean “smelling”. It smelled so clean that I could still smell the cleaning products the day after I got home through my cPap machine. There was a small refrigerator in the room. The freezer door could not close all the way. So it had a large frost buildup and was obviously wasting electricity and also useless for a guest who needed to keep things frozen. The continental breakfast didn’t begin until 7am and I had to leave before that time. Breakfasts, especially just “continental” ones usually start at 6am at most places I’ve stayed. All in all, the room was a good value, comfortable, large, clean, and I would stay there again at the current price point.

Check in was smooth, property was located near University of Florida where i was visiting with my son.

The stay wasnt bad however, expect to buy breakfast. There was a free muffins and old coffee. Photos need to be updated!

Pros: The gentleman was so very friendly that checked us in. Close to where we needed to be all weekend. Cons: Room and bathroom had a funky smell the whole time. Bathtub was chipped up, and there was an icky blob of something behind the bathroom door. Also, the WIFI code did not work at all.

This property has been nicely renovated and is run by a family. The location provides easy access to downtown and UF. The price is far better than anything else that I seen in the area. I recommend this as a good location, good bargain, and pleasant ownership.

No frills. Clean room at a fair price. Hotel was fine...some shady looking redneck dudes in the parking lot, but you know, Florida.

Easy access. Room recently renovated and pleasing. Very loud guests in outside corridors at 1am and could hear traffic noise

Television set was not properly connected and thus was not in use on the first day. The front office did correct this, once informed of the situation.

Great stay for those on a budget, the room was very clean and modern. The washroom had nice granite counters, the sheets were clean with no rips or burn holes, no bugs, the internet worked well, and the facility was quiet (that's a feature worth mentioning in a college town). There was a used bottle of Oil of Olay in the shower that I'm guessing wasn't a standard amenity (the hotel-provided soaps were a different brand), but other than that everything was very clean and well maintained (and seriously, anyone who would take issue with that extremely minor imperfection should consider paying a little more for high class hotel like Marriott or Hilton). I was glad to see a Gideon bible in the drawer too, I always look for those when I stay in a motel.

Service was good as I was staying while my wife underwent brain surgery at Shands. WE forgot items the first nite and they were saved and waiting for me to pick them up.
