"An amazing two week stay at Punta Prima Resort and Spa!"

10.0

We arrived home yesterday after having an amazing two weeks at this resort! The location is stunning with beautiful sea views all around and there is a local beach to visit which is a five minute walk out of the resort. There is also a bus stop right outside the resort and a land train which can take you to other local areas. Our check in was straight forward with very friendly, helpful reception staff. Our room was ready as soon as we’re arrived! The grounds around the resort are well maintained and clean, including the pool and restaurant areas. Our apartment was perfect as I have mobility issues. We were central to everything and still had an amazing view from our terrace. And yes the resort is on a slope but there are ramps and slopes all around the resort so it is accessible for everyone. Our apartment was spotless and was cleaned regularly with clean towels and bedding. We also have no complaints where noise was concerned. There have been mixed reviews regarding the food and to be perfectly honest we have no idea why. There is plenty of choice for everyone, including healthy options, I never once had the same meal. The chefs were even very accommodating with our daughter who suffers with a severe dairy allergy. Those who work in the restaurants work all day everyday and were extremely friendly and helpful. There is a huge selection of drinks to choose from, including all kinds of cocktails and when you ask for a wine or cava at dinner you get given the whole bottle! A big shout out to all the animation team they were amazing!! You can see they work hard as a team and really support each other no matter what role they play. Well thought out shows with great energy and talent. Plenty of activities to join in darts, football, water games, archery etc, with the staff making it fun and enjoyable. For us the whole experience was great value for money, it was well worth it! The only complaint we have is other guests choosing to occasionally smoke in public areas when it is against Spanish law to do so & the rudeness of impatient unappreciative guests. All members of staff worked so hard to make this one of our top family holidays! We will definitely visit again!

"Hmm….we were expecting more"

6.0

The initial check in experience was chaotic, and we were left sitting in the reception area for hours with lots of other guests waiting for our room to be ready. Having been awake most of the previous night with the flight, we just wanted to rest and unpack. The worst part of the holiday was having to locate your room (not easy from the map!) then wheel or carry your heavy luggage up a very steep hill and down several uneven paths in very hot temperatures (we are not young by any means) We really feel like guests’ luggage should be taken to their room by vehicle (We’ve seen this in other hotels). The best thing about this hotel is its location with sea views, and the grounds. They are kept beautifully and we cannot fault their upkeep. The entertainment is also amazing and they are a very talented team. The entrance to the hotel gives a good impression but not sure we will be returning due to how much we struggled with the luggage.

"Favourite holiday location"

10.0

This is the fourth time we have stayed at Insotel, Punta Prima, we first came when my children were 13 and 11, they are now 20 and 22. Still love it, staff are always very helpful, facilities are amazing as is the food and drinks, the rooms are very clean and i love the Furniture and general aesthetics of the suites. can easily have a day on the resort and not get bored, we also did a lot of site seeing of the island. did a lot of hopping between pools for swims and the local beach is also a must. Will be back again. If i have a complaint it is not the fault of the hotel just some people who are pretty selfish at times. There were a couple of groups by the pool playing there own loud music (which really should not be allowed) and spitting on the floor by the pool! not very nice when trying to wind down. also some people in the dining area seem to feel the need to push to get food like it's about to run out and let there children scream with out doing anything to stop them.

Had a wonderful time, apartment was clean and airy, towels changed everyday, resort was clean and well maintained, food was ok plenty of choice, 3 restaurant and 2 booking restaurants, entertainment was good all done by entertainment team , one down side the bar in entertainment centre was large but not utilised to good effect resulting in queuing, table service was good, pools are excellent and large, all in all a very good week away.

"3 Star at best. Fantastic location and pool scene. Terrible food and first impressions."

6.0

We have just returned after our first family holiday with a 1 year old. First impressions were probably the worst we have ever experienced. The reception area is wholely underwhelming and the welcoming none existent. After waiting on a coach for over and hour with a baby and then the transfer (tip - always use private transfer as we did on the way back as although a short transfer you still have to wait for people!) we arrived and waited in a line of people for an hour and a half with a baby. No aircon, no welcome, no drinks, just left to it. It really was terrible and other guests around us were just as shocked and disappointed. After finally getting to the desk, again the service was terrible with no real explaining of the complex or welcoming. It was a very 'work it out yourself' type service and we were then left lugging all of our cases around a complex we didnt know with a bay hot and sweaty after arriving. Not 5 star at all and certainly not a great start. Location of the hotel beautiful and our room i would suggest was one of the best on the complex with a fabulous sea view right at the bottom of the hotel. This made us feel alot better after that checkin experience. The rooms are dated as previously mentioned and in need of updating as they are tired. The pool scene was excellent, particularly the splash pool for babies which was fantastic. Snacks seemed none existent and the self serve drinks were un usable as they were covered in wasps. A lovely short walk to the beach (not the best beach but adequate) and lovely nearby shops and restaurants. Now the bad bit....the food. We had seen previous reviews and didnt worry as we are not at all fussy with food. The food was the worst we have ever experienced. We actually didnt eat anything the first day we arrived as the choice was so poor and quality of what was on offer was shameful. The second day I tried the beef cheek and had a really bad stomach for 4 days following. I never ate at the hotel again. Like us, you may see previous reviews re food and ignore. We did. But this was the one thing that really altered our holiday and prevented it from being excellent. Yes, we still had a great time but we barely ate all week. Once I was able to eat again we ate at the restaurants by the beach which were lovely. Overall we would say this is 3 star hotel, a fantastic location and pool scene but certainly not anything higher than 3 star given the tired and dated rooms, lack of snacks, check in experience and absolutely terrible food.

"Overall good, but ended Badly."

8.0

We visited Insotels last week as a group of 7 including my 13 month old son. Overall the complex is excellent, pools are fab, rooms are clean & to a good standard & the staff our incredibly friendly. The water slides were fun & the splash pool for my little one was brilliant. However, the location isn’t great. Not much to do around the area & everything is a good 20/30 minutes away by bus. The food was an average Spanish buffet but did repeat alot in terms of pasta, chips or salad. The entertainment was very loud & wasn’t the best. Towards the last few days of the week, my son became very unwell. Later discovered it was hand, foot & mouth which ruined the last few days of our trip. So Overall had a good time, made the most of the week. If we decided to return we would hire a car for easy access to see the rest of the island. We would book into some of the specialised restaurants more & we would bring some cards games to play instead of going to the entertainment.

"Great for kids"

8.0

Lovely hotel, brilliant for kids, bathrooms were clean and tidy the rooms do need updating however, the food was average like any other all inclusive hotel but was different every night, the extra restaurants we found hard to book as all was fully booked the day we got there so book in advance, staff were friendly and helpful, plenty of sunbeds, pool big enough for everybody but was always freezing cold, lots of things to do outside of hotel via train or bus as only a few shops and small beach outside of hotel. Beware of ants as they were everywhere, entertainment could be better kids were on until 9:30 and there wasn’t much for adults could do with a bit longer for adults.would stay here again, if travelling in the next 4 weeks beware that the mosquitos are bad and myself and grandson has got hand foot and mouth from the hotel, sports courts was big and normally quiet. Kids play parks were good. Cocktails could be done better as some didn’t taste how they were meant and only beer available was estrella. The hotel itself is on a massive hill so be aware of walking up and down so not the most accessible. Mahon is worth a visit it is 20 minutes away by bus.

"Wonderful"

10.0

Family of ten ages ranging from 4 years to 72 years celebrating our Golden Wedding anniversary. A magical time for all with Insotel going out of their way to help us celebrate with a cake, wine and fruits on the day. We were never short of things to do and everywhere was well maintained and clean. We would recommend especially for families with young children.

"Great hotel"

8.0

I visited this hotel with work earlier this year, and decided to book a (solo) last minute trip last week as I felt it would be a good and safe place to travel alone. Really enjoyed it, other than a rainy day where there wasn't a lot to do (the spa was OK but no space to just lounge other than in the hottubs, sauna etc). There is also one one english language TV channel - a news channel. I knew this, so downloaded some TV to catch up with. The WIFI is pretty good, but does drop when you move location - I fed this back and someone came to check it later that day. The rooms are great and spacious, comfy beds, lovely shower etc. The kitchen area is basic but enough - make sure you turn the fridge to max though - I kept a bottle of wine in the freezer bit and it was perfectly chilled. Generous balcony/terrace areas too, with sun loungers and table and chairs. The pool area is great, always plenty of sunbeds available, and lots of towels on hand. There is music played, but only loudly for an hour around lunchtime. The food was pretty good - if a bit samey. Chef Julio Cesar is amazing as others have commented, and he welcomed me back to the hotel which was lovely. Sometimes the food was a little salty, but plenty of choice to avoid those dishes. My main issue with dinner was that there is no "free" water available - despite there being a water fountain at breakfast (as well as free Cava!!) and at nearly 6 euros for a half litre bottle this was not great. Drinks generally expensive too... There are some restaurants and supermarkets about a 2 minute walk away, next to the beach - useful for stocking up on drinks and snacks for the room. Yes, it's a bit pricey (especially when compared with the all inclusive next door), but in my view worth it. Thanks to all the super friendly staff too - you really made my stay, and made my solo travel super comfortable!
