Thunderbird Beach Resort

I will definitely think twice before staying at this resort in the future. The positives: The location and beach access is great. The live music near the pool area is great. The not so good: We found multiple bugs in our room. The tv in the bedroom did not work. The tv in the living room area had cracks in the screen. We had issues with and noticed others have issues with the pool area attendants. The resort has a policy of not allowing coolers in the pool area, but they do allow them along the wall surrounding the pool area. When we were told of the policy of no coolers in pool area we moved our cooler along the wall but were told we couldn't put OUR cooler there because it was not by OUR room. After talking to front desk we were allowed to have cooler along the wall. We also noticed other guests have other issues with the same pool area attendant. Upon checkout we were not even asked how our stay was, just took the keys and said we were good to go. As a side note, front lobby area is currently under renovations, which i can understand, however they did not have very good signage guiding guests to new "lobby" area on 2nd floor. For these reasons, we will definitely THINK TWICE before staying at the Thunderbird Resort again.

No elevator in the separate suites area. Bugs in the shower. Hair in the bed sheets. Floors weren't swept.

Rooms were clean. Comfortable plenty of towels. 2 pools were nice. Right off the beach. Able to walk to shops and dining. Staff were nice and helpful.

It has nice room, little dated on outside. Great stay.

My friend and I spent 4 nights in Treasure Island at the Thunderbird, and there were both pros and cons to the hotel. Pros: The location is awesome. We walked to many places every day, and the hotel seemed centrally located to many places of interest. The pool patio area was nice with music every single day, and in the evenings, the tiki bar was busy and nice. The employees in the lobby were very helpful and tried their best while being displaced to a temporary location to make everything run smoothly. I would definitely request a room facing the ocean rather than a pool view, as there is no balcony on those rooms and the noise would be noticeable. Cons: The room was extremely bad smelling when we arrived, to the point we bought several air fresheners and three different damp rid bags. That still didn't eliminate the smell, but did make it bearable. The room was extremely humid and damp, and no matter the things we did to help with this, it didn't seem to matter. The room was fairly clean, but the first day no one came in to clean our room, and a second day our room was not cleaned until 4:30 PM when we returned to get ready for the evening. In general, the hotel is older and needs some updating, but it was decent enough for a few nights. The rooms facing the pool did not have balconies, so the outdoor space for these rooms were in the general walkways; at times, these were impassable due to floats, extra chairs, and beach supplies sitting there.

Loved the location. The pool is chilled and very relaxing vibes. The room walls are paper then so you can hear everything when guest are in the room next to you.

Beautiful spot, live music most of the day. Has a down south resort.

Great location right on beach. Rooms have everything you need including dishes and cookware. Clean and spacious. Gas stations and Walgreens across street. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance. Walmart 3 miles away.
