"Great wee hotel - give it a try you won’t be disappointed"

8.0

Stayed July 24 just after hurricane Beryl, just realised I never done a review. Had a wonderful stay, perfect room next to the pool me hubby and our grandson. The staff were so friendly, the food was varied cooked fresh and was so tasty. The drinks 👍 mango dacquiris and mudslide were my fave lol.The pool was small but was perfect for cooling down in, unfortunately five out of our 14 nights the pool was out of use a bit of a pain for our grandson😢, but visited sister hotel Mango Bay for a few hours one day. Our room was perfect spotlessly clean with walk-in shower and bath and the beds were so comfy. Would definitely recommend visiting. We are returning this year but to sister hotel Mango Bay, more activities for the big kids lol. Hoping to pop down to island inn for a visit .

"Part 1 ❤️"

10.0

Part 1 This place is a little slice of heaven. So much so that I couldn’t think of any other place I would rather be, on my hard earned vacation. The staff are real people with cool personalities that actually make your holiday.! Emerge yourself in a real Barbados experience and you will not be disappointed we are arriving for our second visit tomorrow and can’t wait to update our experience

"Small hotel"

6.0

This was our third stay at this hotel and we were really looking forward to it. However we were greeted with a miserable rude receptionist. We both smiled, said hello and introduced ourselves. Not even a hello just waved to sit down. Informed us that the room wasn't ready and to get yourself a drink at the bar. We went to the room and it was ready so we took the suitcases to the room. Not a good start to the holiday. The majority of the staff are friendly however when certain rude, non hospitable staff are on duty there is a distinct unfriendly atmosphere. If I was managing them they would be put on non performance for their attitude. A clue for them is they work in hospitality therefore should be hospitable to their guests. However Terry as ever is a fantastic barman, hospitable and great to chat to. Sadly it depends what side of the bed Trey got out of to the mood he will be in behind the bar. The bar stocks premium spirits and Terry makes fabulous cocktails. Food wise OK but not enough vegetables with the main course at dinner. Plus the portion size has reduced compared to our last visit. Not good for a man with a healthy appetite. Looked forward to the buffet/bbq when there was plenty of salad and vegetables. Rooms are spacious, plenty of storage space but a little dated. Extremely comfortable bed. Could do with better lighting and hot water was an issue. Cleaned daily. The swimming pool requires work, mosaic tiles missing around the side of the pool. Despite some of my negative comments regarding the staff I still like the hotel, its layout and size. It is well situated short walk to Pebbles beach, Carlisle Bay and about a 20 minute walk into Bridgetown.

"A Little Gem"

10.0

A little gem near pebbles beach - 30 second walk and 5 mins from the garrison, 30 mins bridgetown. Only 24 rooms , which makes it have that homely feel. All the staff are fab and always helpful and happy. Mix of buffet and menu nights for dinner with something for everyone. Shout out to bar staff - Tre , Terry and especially Crystal ( pictured) who make you feel part of the family and this lady is a credit to your hotel - to take words from another Barbadian ( with a twist) she ' Shines bright like a 'Crystal' Def recommend and will return 😜

"Beautiful boutique hotel for a relaxing stay in a gorgeous setting"

10.0

We stayed for 10 nights and can only say good things about this lovely hotel. We booked in with ease and were offered a refreshing drink. We stayed in room 4 and although a little dark it had everything we needed. Air con was spot on and the huge bed was so comfortable. The shower room with toilet and sink had a large area to shower without banging elbows etc on the walls. There is a fridge, a kettle plenty of storage space and a safe inside the wardrobe which also held an iron and ironing board, spare pillows and blankets etc. The green monkey's which hang around the hotel are amazing to see, we frequently had them sitting just outside our room. The food is buffet style for breakfast with plenty of options. Bacon, scrambled eggs, beans etc. Fresh fruit, toast, granola and cereals. Yoghurt and pastries. You won't go hungry. Lunch and dinner is alternated between buffet and table service. The food is lovely and the staff are great. A special mention to Sharon who was amazing, she made us feel so welcome. Another special mention goes to Crystal, the world's happiest and best bartender. She made us smile daily and her cocktails were spot on. The pool area is nice, and the pool is cold but refreshing, much needed with that hot sun. The hotel is a 2 minute walk to pebbles beach, $15 us for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella for the day and the beach is lovely, much quieter than Carlisle bay as less tourists from the cruises. Highly recommend the cocktails in a coconut. Its about a 25 to 30 minute walk to Bridgetown or you can grab a ZR (crazy bus) for $3.50 bds each. Check out the Tiki Bar, they have a huge array of cocktails, turn right from the hotel and head towards Hastings. The boardwalk is a lovely way to walk along the beaches. All in all it's a fantastic place to stay and being small you get to chat to other guests which was lovely. I highly recommend a stay here, we will definitely be back.

"Good location"

8.0

We choose the island for a 2 night pre cruise stop. We got a great deal as we booked really early. This hotel is in a good location walking distance to all the beach clubs on Carlisle bay and a 30 minute walk into Bridgetown. A very intimate and small hotel. Staff doing multiple jobs, you’ll know everyone in 2 days! There is also a beach 2 mins walk around the corner but I would say not quite as nice as Carlisle bay. The rooms are a little dated but the air con was good and the bed comfortable. Fridge, safe, fan, kettle are all present. The pool area is not very inviting and we didn’t use it opting for the beach club 20 mins away. The breakfast is buffet and lunch and evening meals are served to you which I liked although choice is minimal. I hate getting up and down for my meals! Pretty area for your drinks before the meal. Some staff are super friendly and helpful Angela on reception and Elsie made us laugh. This is a low budget all inclusive hotel. You pays your money and make your choice. This is a 3/4 score for me.

"Amazing 10 day holiday to Barbados."

10.0

We have just finished our 10 night stay at the island inn. This holiday has been a dream for us and we have been so excited to come to beautiful Barbados. The island inn did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived we received a lovely greeting from Crystal who also helped us with our suitcases to our room. Our room was beautiful with a comfortable huge bed and lovely bathroom with a shower. There is plenty of storage space for clothes. We had room number 19 which overlooked the pool and had a lovely patio area at the front. The food here was the best food we have had while being on holiday. I couldn't fault it and will miss it very much. There is a mixture of buffet meals and a la carte meals with plenty of choice supplied for both. Plenty of vegetarian options also. The dining area at the island inn is beautiful and always impeccably clean. The staff here have been lovely with particular mention of Sherry-Ann and Sharon. These two ladies are so welcoming and smiley and we were always pleased to see them. Sherry-Ann was very helpful in suggesting the best places to visit on the island. They are both amazing at their jobs and I feel a real asset to the island inn. The hotel is about a minutes walk from pebbles Beach and about a 5 minute walk to Carlisle bay. Both beautiful beaches. Both of these beaches have places to eat, drink and also have restrooms. Also within 20 minutes walking distance from the island inn is the garrison, George Washington house, Barbados museum. About a half hour walk will take you to bridgetown. There are plenty of public transport options available also. I don't have a single negative thing to say about our stay at the island inn. We have had the best time and this hotel really is amazing value for money. We will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you island inn for ensuring we had the best time at your hotel.

"Island Inn Hotel … a little gem!"

10.0

Well …. What a lovely little gem! With only few rooms everyone gets to know each other, and we made friends for life! 🥰 The food is outstanding and Sherry-Ann our regular waitress couldn’t do enough for us ❤️ always ensuring the rum and raisin ice cream was on the menu! 🤣 The hotel is generally quiet which was lovely and the evening entertainment was on only a few times during our stay, but was quality! The staff in this hotel were all lovely, however the bar staff were missing on a few occasions 🤣 the mosquitoes however were not ! OMG we were eaten alive 🤣 our room was comfortable and kept clean daily, we were by the pool and felt like we had a private pool most of the time, we were also only a couple of minutes from the beach 😊 All in all a lovely trip and would definitely recommend this place and the island, although would have to sort the mosquitoes! 🤣 xx

"Great stay in a friendly hotel"

10.0

My wife and I travelled with friends, who were celebrating their golden wedding, as were we. We all loved the Island Inn. The small and intimate feel certainly helped make the holiday and you were never short of interesting people to chat to. We found the staff were friendly and attentive - and some were very much part of the fun (special mention for Terry and Elsie). I could quibble about small things but, when I say that the top two are the red wine being served warm and the dress code being a myth, you should realise that I really have nothing to complain about. We found the food good, although some nights were better than others. The room sizes are generous (although an extra light wouldn't go amiss). It's well worth a visit to the sister hotels at the Sands and Mango Bay but Pebbles Beach is probably better than either. There aren't actually many pebbles there and, if you are a snorkeller, you can see almost as many fish under the pier as you can at the Marine Nature Park.
