"A Perfect Getaway at The Island Inn"

10.0

From the moment we arrived at The Island Inn, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality that set the tone for a truly memorable stay. Special thanks to Kenja and Carol, who were absolutely amazing. The entire team went above and beyond—always friendly, attentive, and ready with a smile. We felt genuinely cared for throughout our visit. A heartfelt shoutout to Terri, Mani, and Chrystal at the bar, and Doris, Janette, Tia, and Sharon in the restaurant. Apologies if we’ve missed anyone—every single staff member was excellent. The food was a standout highlight. Each meal was a delightful experience, with flavourful ingredients and beautifully presented dishes that reflected both creativity and care. The daily changing menu kept things exciting and fresh, whether it was a hearty breakfast or a romantic dinner. As for the amenities, The Island Inn is a charming three-star hotel that punches well above its weight. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with large, clean bathrooms—though slightly dated, they were impeccably maintained. The pool, while small, is perfectly suited to the intimate size of the hotel, and the cozy lounge areas are thoughtfully designed for relaxation and connection. With only 24 rooms, the hotel offers a wonderfully sociable atmosphere. If you're the kind of person who enjoys meeting fellow travellers, you’ll likely know most of the guests by day two. It’s not a party scene, but it’s a lovely place to unwind and enjoy good company in the shared spaces. I’m already looking forward to returning and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a cozy, welcoming, and well-run escape.

"Birthday fun"

10.0

What a little gem of a place to stay. Small, elegant boutique of a place. From smiles when we first arrived till when we left. It was my first time in Barbados and won't be my last. Loved every minute of it, 7 days of sunshine and laughs. A big high five to Crystal, as she made the trip an amazing one with lotsa memories and new friends 🧡. We miss you Crystal. The food was amazing, especially when your a picky eater. No issues here. It was easy to get around with the local bus service or if you want more private with taxis. Walked to the beach. Wifi everywhere. We will be back for sure!!

"Small and Friendly"

8.0

it’s a small hotel which gives it an intimate personal vibe after a couple of days you tend to get to know the other guests and that makes for a homely friendly atmosphere around the pool in the bar and eating in restaurant at meal times .During the day the bright sunshine highlights the fact it could use,a bit of TLC and a lick of paint at night time they turn on the lighting and its looks lovely. The food in the restaurant is pretty good it’s usually served at the table you have a choice of around 3 dishes per course we always found something. The rooms are also ok we only used them to shower change and sleep and they serve that purpose very well . They had entertainment I think three times a week a DJ and a couple of singers one of the singers was pretty good from what I remember. If I return it will be because of the restaurant and bar staff they were great nothing was too much trouble if there was something not on the menu that you fancied and they could get it for you they would and they were generally friendly and helpful right across the board . There is one problem however that you do need to prepare for Ive never been anywhere where the mosquitoes are as bad as they are here it affected all the guests and I got bitten around 30 times one afternoon despite previously applying repellent brought from the UK . Repellents bought in the UK were totally useless Deet doesnt seem to work however we did find a solution their is a pharmacy at the end of the street couple of hundred yards go there and purchase a spray called OFF it’s Citronella based and it did solve the problem . It’s not the Hilton but it’s intimate personal and friendly if that’s what you like you will probably enjoy this hotel

"Absolutely Gem!!!"

10.0

Was my first time to Barbados and I’m so happy Island Inn was the place to call “home” for the week. Being an all inclusive, 24 room boutique hotel I wasn’t sure what to expect… well from the moment we arrived, I felt nothing but welcome. My friend and I came to celebrate our birthdays because they are a week apart and we were made to feel special from the moment we walked into our rooms with a happy birthday banner and balloons. The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean and the food was delicious! Big shout out to Crystall, she really helped make this trip a special one, she deserves a huge raise. Can’t wait to visit again soon.

"Marmite"

6.0

Marmite! Another reviewer rated this as Marmite. We agree. The hotel has potential but!!! Staff not really friendly apart from on arrival when they are told to be happy! Food very average. The buffet was awful, we dreaded this . Breakfast a complete shambles and dare you ask for anything that ran out. The DISCO, when has Perry Como ever been part of the disco scene!! If sitting around in an old people home is your thing, well this hotel will be perfect. Lots of elderly returners. Mango Bay, of which you have free access to as it is the sister hotel is 100% worth the journey to the West Coast. The old saying, you only get what you pay for! We need another holiday now because we were so disappointed with Island Inn. I have no idea why there are so many good reviews because we believed the reviews and had high hopes only to be disappointed.

"A charming Caribbean experience."

10.0

We have visited Barbados several times over the years and Carlisle Bay/Pebble Beach has become one of our favourite places on the planet. The Island Inn is situated within a 1 minute walk of the beach and we have literally passed it hundreds of times. So this year we decided to book an all inclusive 7 night stay. The History of the main building is interesting, as it was built and used as the Garrison Rum Store, where some of the rooms are located. It’s an incredibly relaxing place to stay which is very rustic. Yes it’s a little tired and in need of a refresh, but to us, this simply falls under the category of Caribbean Charm. The place is kept incredibly clean and the staff are very warm and friendly. The food is Mainly a la carte, with the occasional buffet evening. All the food and drink is of a very high standard, and we have zero complaints. If you want ultra modern, you need to look elsewhere, but if you want to experience a truly relaxing Caribbean vibe, then you won’t go far wrong booking a stay here. The bottom line is that we will definitely stay again.

"Lovely place"

The staff and food were very good, great location, entertainment was not the greatest, however you make your own fun!! Bed was good. Beware of the monkeys do not feed them or leave bananas on your breakfast table. They snatch those bananas off my table like no tomorrow.

"Best hotel in Barbados"

10.0

Our fourth trip to the Island Inn. And yet again a perfect stay. It was great to be remembered by staff and management, who all seemed genuinely pleased to see us again. A big thanks to Crystal ,trey and terry on the bar, excellent service as usual. Also a big thanks to. Elise,Doris, Jennette,Tia, for looking after us so we'll in the restaurant. A great big thanks to all the people in the kitchen, the food was amazing. And not to forget Wayne and all the cleaning staff who kept our room immaculate. Counting down the days untill we will visit again next year.
