Crown Hotel Stamford

The crown is a lovely old building set in the centre of Stamford with all shops and restaurants on your doorstep, the hotel itself is very nice clean and well decorated the only downside is it's a bit pricey with drinks and food. The breakfast is good but not explained when you first sit down about confusing on first morning to be honest as most hotels explain about tea/coffee, juice, continental, toast,and full English etc your just given the menu and have to left alone to work out what's what. Stamford itself is a bit expensive but you would expect that from a beautiful well to do English town, The pub next door omg a pint of Guinness and a large glass of wine ........ wait for it.......£21😲 but on the whole a very nice stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at the Crown. Staff were super friendly, great menu choices and both the main courses that we ordered were absolutely perfect. The partridge was cooked beautifully and the sauce was to die for. Great portion sizes and excellent value for money.

We stayed in the "Hayloft" which was quirky but beautifully presented

I absolutely loved my stay at this gorgeous little hotel. A warm and friendly welcome, easy parking, a lovely room, a perfect location, and an amazing breakfast! I would say one of the best breakfasts I have had. Staff couldn’t do more to make the stay any better. Would highly recommend this place, whether it’s for a romantic getaway, or business - you will not be disappointed.

Stayed for one night , don't usually eat in the hotel but it looked fab and it was . Lovely quaint hotel in a great location , free carpark ( always helps ) . Room was abit small but had everything we needed . Evening meal was fabulous as was the breakfast . Will def return.

Great stay, lovely hotel.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights this week. Hotel is beautifully decorated although our room was just clinically white which was disappointing. Small room with a comfortable bed and very clean. The bathroom was also very small and there wasn't even a surface to put so much as your toothbrush down. Had to keep everything in the bedroom and keep going in and out from bathroom to bedroom for toiletries etc. The shower was very good however. Not sure this room justified the £168 price tag. Worst thing though was the noise from the room above, inconsiderate guests constantly stamping around and moving furniture from 4am onwards. Appreciate it's not the hotels fault but we only got about 4 hours sleep per night due to this. Breakfast was variable the Full English was excellent but the Eggs Royale was swimming in albumen and water from the barely cooked eggs. If you do stay beware as you will be locked out after about 9.45 and the slightly grumpy night manager gives the impression that you're dirty stop outs! All in all it's a lovely hotel and I guess we were just unlucky to get the room we were allocated.

I will be visiting The Crown next week, with a party of friends. I am very awkward, as I'm vegan and gluten free. I thought I'd just send an email to see if they might have something that I could eat, as I couldn't see anything suitable on the regular menu. Well, what fabulous service! David ( food and beverages manager) got back to me straight away, promising that he would speak to the chef, which he duly did. Chef presented me, via email, a lovely menu, with plenty of choice. 9 of us have just returned from a great couple of days at the Crown. This is a super hotel in the heart of Stamford. All the staff, cleaners, receptionists, waiting staff, etc. were lovely - all incredibly friendly, efficient and helpful. The hotel is immaculately clean, and although the rooms were quite small, they were very well appointed. The breakfast was incredible - such a choice of top quality food all brought to the table by a cheery waitress. We all enjoyed our evening meal at the Crown, although a number of us were disappointed there were no mussels available, and we thought it was a bit on the pricey side - the quality, quantity and cooking was all excellent though. It was a bit too chilly to enjoy the outside areas, but they still looked lovely with the flowers still going strong, and twinkly lights at night. We ate somewhere different on the second night, and were surprised on our return at 9.50 to find we were locked out, and the bar was closed, although we were intending to have a nightcap. All in all, a very enjoyable stay. Thank you.

The hotel has a lot of charm and straight out of the top draw. Superb
